$30.00 for LA Fitness, 30 bucks to watch of muscle heads pump each other.

You never get used to the smell of the locker room.

I am still on my original 24 hour fitness contract, so I don't remember what it was up front...don't pay monthly yet. I haven't been in a while though since doing Power 90 and now P90x.

Wifey goes a good bit though.

$85/month. Pretty much impossible to pay much less for a gym membership in NYC. I did used to work out at he Parks and Rec centers around the city for $40/year but it's really like working out in a prison yard.

Damn the cheapest here is 64 dollars and it's not that great. Not really a gym but a spa at a high end resort. I am thinking of joining again partly because of the amazing women that flow through there from all over the world. I know I'm a sexist pig (actually I'm not I just love women).

$57 is flushed down the toilet, every month. I guess I should start going, again...

$20 a month at Golds. My son is married to the granddaughter of the guy that made Gold's Gym. He may have sold it by now but I got to pay monthly and they can't change it. I hate contracts.

$15 for the gym I go to. I generally use it for the treadmill. In the summer out here where I would go run has snakes (rattlers...) that like to sunbathe either in the middle of the road or on trails. I am a stocky dude, so I tend to blow up when I lift weights regularly...not a good look for me. So the running helps bring the weight down. So $15 to ensure a snake free run is a good buy for me.

$0.00

Have a treadmill and a bench with a lat tower. Probably would have spent twice as much for a membership.

$40 at a local gym. They just remodeled everything and all the machines and most the weights are brand new. New talent, too.

I locked in a 3-year contract for like 750 bucks about 10 years ago. After the contract, my renewal was $20 bucks a year and it includes every 24-hour fitness up to Sport level (I think it goes up to Super Sport or ultra sport or whatever but I've never had a problem with any gym).

I also have been lifting consistently for those 10 years, so I'm pretty sure I'm getting my money's worth .

The owner is an old guy who has trouble even with Viagra, so I just bang his younger wife a couple of times a month and he gives me a free membership.

Sounds reasonable enough a cost to have you make him look good in comparison

I dont go to a gym. Funny thing you made this thread though. Today I am going in for my first PT at 24 hour fitness..

Was doing the p90x, but got such good results that I just do not have the weight I need at my house.
(I have a bench, and some free weights that go up about 35lbs)

Hopefully I can get in for less than 100 a month? Is that about right for a 24 hour fitness that I would use 5 times or so a week?

24 hour fitness is about 60 here in NYC. Crunch is 70-90 depending on your contract... Equinox is 160 because it's filled with fashion models.
