NFLPA shuts team down next week
While most of the participants seemed to be enjoying practice today, somebody hasn't been and blew the whistle. The Raiders have been told to cancel two days of off-season practices next week, as the NFL Management Council and the NFL Players Association resolved a dispute. The Raiders' (overworked?) players are now not permitted to be at the facility next Wednesday and Thursday, but will be paid for the sessions. The club cannot reschedule the cancelled practice days. The Ravens recently lost two days of practices after six players were found to be in meetings too long, while two practiced over the time limit as outlined by the current collective bargaining agreement. Read more: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/...#ixzz0qQjXhatB Question: How the hell does the NFL find out this info to begin with? How are they specifically able to find out that 6 players were in team meetings too long and 2 were practicing over the limit? How does this type of information get out to the NFL officials? |

Looks like the Ravens are really happy with the Foxworth signing right about now.

When suspicions are aroused, the NFL can demand to see tapes of the OTAs. If they don't like what they see, they mete out punishment. |

I don't think it is a coincidence we are seeing these things being enforced this year with so many players being short changed by the expiring CBA. I think players who are not happy with playing under an RFA tender when they could have been free agents are much more likely to file a complaint with the NFLPA who will then take it to the NFL who really have very little choice but to enforce the CBA.

Teams Record EVERYTHING that happens in their facilities. Yes, they even record the meetings to make sure people are not sleeping during film sessions and the like. So, the hours would be a matter of record the NFL could easily get.

Awesome day for Kiffen. His old team loses OTA time for something that happened on his watch...and his new team sanctions will cause him a ton of problems over the next 2+ years.
Couldn't have happened to a better guy. Sometimes karma is a b****. |

By the way, theCool, congrats on a very solid first post and first thread. Better than most newbs. Not bad for a guy who's been here since '07.

With Foxworth the difference is there will always be a complaint. He should just give up the charade of playing football and go be a politician. He cares more about the NFLPA than actually playing.
