I played the 1st and 2nd. I really enjoyed the 2nd one too. This would make me interested in picking up the console platform for it.

Reviews are saying this is the best stealth game since Metal Gear Solid. This was not on my radar until today. I'll be sure to stop at Gamestop on the way home.

"In the year 2027..."
. Yeah, in 16 years we'll all have hovercrafts, metal arms, mech armor, and the world will be a bladerunner dystopia. |

I know this question wasn't directed at me, but I think you give it a try at least. The only problem that you may face is that Deus Ex was ahead of its time, and therefore is often imitated (often poorly) by a lot of games afterwards so it may lose some of its wow factor now that you play it. That being said, I think it still stands the test of time. It can be played as a shooter, or an rpg, or a stealth game. It really does do a good job of combining the genres for its time. The new game apparently polishes some of the issues in the first game like the shoddy AI and poor voice acting.
The best thing that I love about the original is that it rewarded exploration. Heck, you get experience points for just finding a new area off the beaten path. And usually those hidden paths actually gave you something rewarding as opposed to other games. |
