Or alien death ray?
You decide. The government wants you to think that this is a natural phenomenon, in order to keep down the panic, but anybody who has watched the Outer Limits knows that aliens can remove large sections of cities and deposit them, intact, in intergalactic zoos for their evil entertainment. We need to put Gaffney on the case. http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/americ...ex.html?hpt=C2 |

A sinkhole opened up in Guatemala City causing millions of dollars worth of improvements
I understand old daredevil Rebis Knebis is going to jump into it to see if it goes to the center of the Earth or not. |

It's real. There's another in another part of the city. Those are common for that region of the world. Remember there would normally be jungle there.

![]() Flaming Crater, Darvaza Turkmenistan- The Door to Hel In 1971, geologists discovered a huge underground deposit of natural gas on this site. And while excavating, a whole drilling rig fell into an underground cavern. Natural gas started coming up from the hole. To prevent gasses from escaping, it was set alight and it continues to burn even today. The crater measures roughly 60 meters in diameter and 20 meters deep and is located in Turkmenistan. |

Cenotes are formed by dissolution of rock and the resulting subsurface void, which may or may not be linked to an active cave system, and the subsequent structural collapse of the rock ceiling above the void. The rock that falls into the water below will then be slowly removed by further dissolution, creating space for more collapse blocks. The rate of collapse increases during periods when the water table is below the ceiling of the void, since the rock ceiling is no longer buoyantly supported by the water in the void. Cenotes may be fully collapsed creating an open water pool, or partially collapsed with some portion of a rock overhang above the water. The stereotypical cenotes often resemble small circular ponds, measuring some tens of meters in diameter with sheer drops at the edges. Most cenotes, however, require some degree of stooping if not crawling to access the water.

And seriously, there's a flaming natural gas hole in Turkmenistan? I'm not up to date on my chemical reactions, but is it safe to assume that that's puking greenhouse gases? |

No wonder CNN is losing viewers and readers. They actually quote posts from people in the comments section of the story in the actual story.

Its Obama's fault.
Had to be said. Actually, my initial thinking was that was photoshopped but no one seems to verify that. Pretty freaky if you ask me and it has to make you wonder how firma Terra Firma really is. |

It's the earth protesting Al Gore's divorce. The earth had gotten intelligence that Tipper was in Guatamala. Tipper needs to start sleeping in a different cave every night, like Osama. Al Gore is the earth's friend. And the earth is pissed.

Look, we have the whole Broncos team going to Oakland every year. If they can survive hell, then you and the Latinos can also. BTW, I have seen that picture for three days now and it looks way too fake. So perfect. Good news is they have a public pool if they decide to fill it in. Good luck doing it with dirt.
