If you're willing to drop $150 on a bottle of single malt, you cannot go wrong with The Balvenie 21 year Port Wood

Also - Talisker 98 Distiller's Edition is one of the best bottles under $100 I've had. It's finished in sherry casks, so it's got a great kind of bitter-sweet taste. I love it.

I've had e&j vsop and it destroyed my stomach. Maybe I just drank it to fast.

I'd say that I drink Jack 80% of the time. When I'm in an Irish pub I drink Jameson on the rocks. I also like Makers Mark and Crown Royal. If there is no Jack and those two are there they will more than do.

I'm not much of a scotch drinker. Nothing against it, just not my thing.

Gins, Bombay Saphire is awesome. I like Beefeater too. I've never been a Tanqueray drinker. I'm not feeling that one as much.

Rum, my favorite is Zaya. Hard to find. Stuff is really good. Meyers and Captin Morgan are good. Bacardi is cheap ****. That's for when you're having a party and you just need cheap rum for mixed drinks.

Not much of a vodka drinker and I don't like tequila. Oh, never buy a woman a drink at a bar. I stopped that when I noticed women ordering Patron. That's like lobster on the first date. So chicks buy your own drink.
Jack daniels is good and yes I normal drink it with coke. Those two go so well together. I will drink Crown Royal on the rocks. Never had Makers Mark or Beefeater. Bombay saphire is good. I useally mix Tanqueray.

Bacardi is good only for mixing. I also only mix captain morgan.

Patron is great and I will mix Jose quavo. Vodka is a good mixer or straight. I got a bottle of Grey Goose a few years back and still haven't open it. I keep it in a dark cool area away from tu sun.

Another two places I know for sure are BevMo and Total Wines and More, but I don't know if you have those (they're basically beer/wine/liquor superstores).
In VA the state controls liquor sales so can only buy from the ABC store. I've heard of Total Wines but have never seen one.

Ah, O.K. I didn't know what an ABC store was.

In that case, I don't really have any advice other than to call around a bit! Sorry!

B) Yes, it is an appletini recipe (with a touch of vermouth added)
C) Why would I be a Chiefs fan now?

Not you, I was referring to Smurf, whom you exposed there as an APPLE-TINI man (if such a thing even exists). I'm thinking Nathan just threw out that Apple-tini thing without realizing the consequences ...

Appletinis are so Sex and the City. Let's put Nathan's face over J.D. from Scrubs:

Gotcha! You totally threw me by only quoting my post and not nesting it inside Smurf's post, so I thought you were speaking to me!

And let me just add that even I enjoy the occasional appletini...or melontini. Fruity drinks are delicious every once in a while (Midori sour being one of my favorites)!

Or you can just leave it... people have said I look like Zach Braff (Then again, I've also gotten Tobey MacGuire, Jeff Daniels and James McAvoy).

Appletini's are green. If you use the right stuff, the Grey Gooze martini is mostly clear with a brownish tint. And it tastes good.

I'll say thanks for your service, too

If you post some photos of you in unifom, next time we hang in Denver you won't pay for a drink all weekend.

I will, however, discourage apple-tinis.

Btw, back to the tread topic: What kind of whiskey did you end up buying for the RA?

I avoided having photos taken of my in uniform like crazy...

Technically, I'm in uniform here, but I'm wearing my peacoat over everything:

You better hurry up and get to Denver now... I'm moving to Maastricht, The Netherlands, mid-August.

I stashed a bottle of 15 year old Jameson's when I was in Galway on my 21s b-day...I committed to break it open when my yet to be born son turned 21.

Still have that bottle...and it hasn't been opened. One day.....

Over the years, that has been harder than it sounds. SB32 was very trying.

Just finished a Bombay & tonic... gonna down this triple Patron, then see what's going on in the basement here at the Lambda house.

When it comes to women, good things always happen to me when I drink Patron.

Oldest city in Holland ...

But you know what the funniest thing about Europe is? It's the little differences. I mean, they got the same stuff over there that we got here, but it's just – it's just there it's a little different.

Like, you can walk into a movie theater in Amsterdam and buy an Apple-tini. And I don't mean just like in no paper cup, I'm talking about an Apple-tini in a fluted glass.

The thing about single malt scotch is that it varies by region. You have the Highlands, Lowlands and Islays. They all have distinct differences that most people who like any sort of whiskey or bourbon will find something that they like as long as they like it straight. Then one tends to find that it's better than any of the other sipping whiskey or bourbon. The best thing about single malt scotch is that one rarely ends up w/ a hang over. It's super clean and a unique buzz.

Granted, there are a ton of great sipping bourbons that start with the Knob Creeks and Makers Marks of the world and go up but bourbon is a bear of a hangover. Too much sugar.

We have a lot to learn from Europe in respect to these types of details. I also like the mandatory break during a movie. It makes a ton of sense.

You got this in Galway Ireland on your 21st? And now you're saving it for your son's 21st ?

worm, you've always been a damn good poster, but this!

You've out-done yourself here ... massive rep
