Anyone see this on NFL Total Access? Dukes picked Knowshon as his breakout player in the NFL season saying he's a complete back, an unhearlded back. Thinks the team will need all of his talents. This leading Michael Lombardi to saying, he's going to have to take his temperature, a positive thought about Denver - that's amazing!

I'm not sure how a team can have a breakout running back and be projected to go 3-13 or whatever Dukes keeps spouting off. To me, this just proves that he isn't consistent and that he's only there to say wild things to get people talking.

Not conflicting really ... the Lions went 4-12 year after year with the best back in the league.

Sanders had 3 5-11 seasons (92, 96, 98) and most of his other seasons he had Detroit competing for the playoffs. I understand your point, but Dukes has consistently stated that the Broncos are terrible, traded all their best players, and couldn't win an intrasquad scrimmage.

Now apparently, Knowshon is a good enough player to be his breakout player?

Detroit made the playoffs in 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1999. Sanders played 10 years. Made the playoffs 60% of the time.

He is right about Knowshon. I have bile in my throat saying Dukes is right about anything, but it is true. look at last season had the line kept guys from getting to him behind the LOS or at the LOS he would have had much bigger numbers. He was something like top 3 in the league in yards after initial contact, which means if his line can open some holes for him and allow him to get through the LOS before he is touched he has the talent to make people miss and break tackles and up his YPC average.

I dont think we were arguing playoff success. Detroit was good enough to make the playoffs with Barry Sanders, countering the thought that he stuggled for years on bad teams that never got close enough to make the playoffs in the first place.

If you looked at knowshon's highlight video posted in a thread earlier, one thing I noticed was the LG got beat or was pushed back on every play. This year, even with a rookie, things will be better.
