One thing I didn't see anybody mention was this --

Dude is stunting his professional growth so much. He's got an accounting degree. That and a $1 will get you on the bus. Accountants do OK for themselves, I got an accounting degree and do fine as a tax accountant for right now. I won't post what I make, as that's not the point. But I do OK for myself as a 26-year old guy with a mortgage but no girlfriend or kids. I.E., I just take care of myself.

You know where the money is? Getting your CPA license. Even if he hooks on with an accounting firm, he'll never be promotable without it. I'm 3/4 of the way done with mine. Does he have a lot of time to do it? Sure. He has the rest of his life. I'm a year older than he is. But (1) these tests are expensive and (2) with all his time and money tied up in moving and playing daddy, I guarantee you he doesn't even attempt to sit for the 4 exams any time soon. And then it will become one of those "Well, maybe next year. Maybe when I don't have _____" going on. Etc.

Have fun being a bookkeeper the rest of your life, I'm sure maxing out at $40K will make this all worth it. And I know that is ridiculously condescending, but this was a terrible decision.

Maxing out at 40K? Jesus that is what I started at coming out of college. Glad I didn't go into accounting.

That may be a little harsh as I'm making 50 w/o the CPA... But there's really zero point in having an accounting degree or being in the field w/o getting the CPA license. He'll never get promoted or move up at any respectable accounting firm.

Transporting cocaine in your anus across the border is risky business.

Not as risky when you survive on sun gazing and water when crossing the desert border.

Not me. I only expect this to be bumped when McFonecofup comes back to report on his, "so I walk into our bedroom after 6 hours of babysitting her kid, when I saw my girlfriend and her ex doing it on our bed." Then his next line is, "what do I do next?" Until then, let the thread die. Dont worry as he will be bringing this back before Training Camp starts.

Here let me sum up:
A guy saunters into a Bronco Forum known as the OM, and starts a thread asking for serious advice (clearly a mistake from the beginning). He's thinking of moving to Myrtle Beach where his girlfriend is from along with her child from a previous relationship. Currently they are in Texas where his family is and doesn't like her. She is a high school dropout, who plans on pursuing a GED someday (she's 22) and he has a Bachelors in accounting or business and works a moderately paid job in Texas. she can't seem to hold a job she likes or pays enough to make it worth continuing.

He asked if we thought he should move with her. Advice ran from follow your heart to get a job first before moving there to what are you an idiot?

the best part was when he showed her the thread. Full on mania followed.

that's it in a nutshell

It's like watching a car crash. You have to watch. And this crash is going to be epic.

Well as long as the guy doesn't have a kid with her at least he has an exit strategy.

Yeah we went over that. We've come to the conclusion that he will be knocking her up, and that will be another excuse for her not to get her GED or get a job.
