So he is already a complete a hole for bailing out on the promised contract of the 49ers. Hope he is nowhere near the starting spot on that team.

If he was that good to begin with, someone would have taken a chance on the kid. If you saw him play after his suspension you know why he was undrafted.

Usually I'm high on Fisher but this Blount guy is a douche. On the other hand Fisher drafted a UM WR, Marc Mariani.

I saw him play before the suspension. The kid was a decent Running Back. I don't know about afterward.

Blount was a fringe NFL RB to begin with because of his lack of speed and agility, but I think he helped his cause after his suspension.

After he was reinstated, Blount scored a TD in the Rose Bowl and the Senior Bowl. Chip Kelly and his staff did everything in their power to salvage his career, Blount took advantage of it and it still wasn't enough for him to get his name called on draft day.

Blount wasn't a fringe player. He was solid 2nd rounder, with both speed and agility to play in NFL.

If he was second round quality, why did he stay until his senior year then? Outside of an extreme case like C.J. Spiller, RBs tend to get out of school when their value is high.

No one wanted to give him a contract. Let him fight it out, pay him the minimum and he will make the team. Looked like a good player to me.

He spent two years playing at a community college, then one full year at Oregon. "The Punch" happened after the first game of the next (2009) season and he was suspended for that entire season. He was later reinstated by the PAC-10 on Nov 14, 2009 at the request of Oregon and played through the rest of the 2009 season.

It's important to note that he had character problems throughout 2008 when he played for Oregon. He "clashed" with the current coach and was suspended for one quarter of a game, and suspended indefinitely as of February 10, 2009- AFTER the 2008 season. He was later reinstated by the new Oregon Head Coach for the 2009 season.

You can't rate draftees by round "on tools alone" because that's not how they are drafted. No reputable scout is going to do that, the best you are going to find is some op-ed piece with an unnamed scout as a source.
