Simple question. Would you be in favor of this trade? This would essentially net us Roethlisberger, Ayers & Quinn for Cutler.

Damn. Think about that.

I'd say no. Don't want that rapist donning a Broncos jersey.

We have concerns about character so we trade a young guy that acts immature about a single situation for a guy that is forming a pattern of raping women? That sounds about as dumb as getting rid of a receiver with character issues to go draft Dez, a receiver with character issues.

Jeez the fact all we got for Cutler was Orton , Ayers and Quinn just made me nauseous.

Yea yea I know Cutler blows , but every time I hear someone say what we ended up getting i just cringe... The Quinn pick is just mind boggling ...

Is Ben even an average NFL QB? Just because he won a couple of Superbowls (on great defensive teams) doesn't mean he's even worth considering straight up for Orton. I don't think Rothlesberger is anything but an average QB. His escape ability is really nice, but he'll force balls and throws some very untimely interceptions.

I don't want him.

You're forgetting #11 will be part of that deal as well.

Also, with Sheffler on his way out Quinn will have a chance to really step up his role this season. With Graham getting older Quinn could be our starting TE down the road. I know that's a lot of faith to put into a guy who showed little to no promise his rookie year, but I'm just saying don't write off Quinn yet.

Roethlisberger is not even McDaniels' style of quarterback. He's too much of a freelancer that holds onto the football and improvises. McDaniels wants a QB that is going to go through his drop, make the read and get rid of the football.

Four months after becoming the toast of the NFL as the youngest Super Bowl-winning quarterback in history, Roethlisberger made his first appearance in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Big Ben flew over the handlebars of his 2005 Suzuki Hayabusa. The QB suffered a broken upper and lower jaw and a broken nose, along with multiple deep cuts to the face.

It was later discovered that Roethlisberger was not wearing a helmet and that he didn't have a valid state license, as his temporary permit had expired two months earlier.
Quote:
July 20, 2009: A Harrah's Lake Tahoe employee, Andrea McNulty, filed a civil suit against Big Ben, claiming that Roethlisberger sexually assaulted her at the casino in July of 2008. According to her lawsuit, the Steelers QB asked her to his hotel room to fix his TV, blocked the room exit, and then assaulted her. McNulty is asking for at least $440,000 from Roethlisberger and another $50,000 from Harrah's for allegedly defaming her and trying to cover up the assault. Roethlisberger has denied the allegations.
Quote:
Nov. 22, 2009: Roethlisberger took a knee to the helmet in a Week 11 overtime loss to Kansas City. It was the fourth concussion of his career.

After a week of "will he or won't he?" leading up to a crucial Week 12 divisional matchup against Baltimore, Roethlisberger sat out the game and Dennis Dixon made his first-ever NFL start.

Dixon nearly led the Steelers to a win, only to fall in overtime once again, 20-17.

Locker room scuttlebutt erupted before the game as Hines Ward and other anonymous teammates questioned Big Ben's manhood for sitting out the game.

Head coach Mike Tomlin took the heat, saying it was his call in concert with team doctors and that Big Ben wanted to play. Nonetheless, the sight of him in pads all game long doesn't help the softness rumors.

Roethlisberger returned Week 13 only to lead Pittsburgh to two more embarrassing losses to Oakland and Cleveland.
Quote:
On March 5, 2010, allegations arose that Roethlisberger sexually assaulted a college co-ed in a bar bathroom.

Roethlisberger didn't deny that he and the woman, reportedly a student at the nearby Georgia College and State University, had relations. Through his attorney, Big Ben said it was a mutual consummation of attractions after a night of partying.

Former Ray Lewis attorney Ed Garland was called in to play the equivalent of Harvey Keitel's "The Wolf" clean-up
Quote:
Hall of Fame former Steelers QB Terry Bradshaw gave scathing remarks about current Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger on Monday. A Georgia DA announced on Monday he would not prosecute Roethlisberger for an alleged sexual assault against a 20-year-old woman.

Bradshaw said he and Roethlisberger do not have a good relationship. His full remarks:

"When I told him to park the motorcycle, he got pissed. Then he had the accident. Ever since then, he doesn't like me, and I'm learning not to like him. And he wants to break all my records and I say 'go for it.' Break them. I really don't care. I've done my job. My job is over and now you have your shot. But in my opinion, he has got to realize who he is. He is an elite athlete in the National Football League. You've got an image problem right now. The best thing to do is not put yourself in that position again. When you're through playing football, you can do whatever you want to do, but right now, stay clean."
Quote:
With rampant rumors making the rounds regarding some type of an unpleasant exchange between Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and goldf legend Arnold Palmer, a source close to Roethlisberger says that the rumors "couldn't be further from the truth."

Per the source, Roethlisberger and Palmer have met twice, and they have played together at Arnold's club, the Latrobe Country Club.

"It was awesome," Roethlisberger said of his golf outing with Palmer in 2008. "It was Arnold and I on a team against [the late] Coach [Terry] Hoeppner and Spider Miller. We had a lot of fun. Just to be out there with him. He is a legend. He is maybe the greatest to ever play. It was fun to hear stories and watch him play. He chipped in a couple of times and had some great shots. It was a blast."

One of the rumors is that Roethlisberger at some point after they played together showed up at the club without Palmer, that Palmer got him onto the course, that Roethlisberger was rude to some kids, that the kids ended up being Palmer's grandchildren, and that Palmer went berserk on Big Ben.

The source denies it, and since we don't know whether the story is true or false we'll defer to the source.
And Jim Carrey claims to have been raped too.

Nobody wants another QB more than me, but I don't want to "settle". That's exactly what we would be doing getting Ben. He's overrated because of the team he's on. His defense is the reason they've won two SB's. And take a look at those SB's, they won in spite of Ben. Kind of like us giving Plummer credit for winning that division playoff game against NE. Overall he had a good year last year, but you could say that about Orton.

I've always been confused when people talk about Ben as a top 5 QB in the league. He's an above average QB with the huge advantage of great D. Does he win? Sure, I guess. But he doesn't win a game by himself like a top 5 QB should.
Is he better than Orton? Hell yeah. But he sure isn't a first round pick better than him...
And that's ignoring any character issues

**** Big Ben. Seriously. I don't want his **** around here. Especially if we have to give up a 1st rounder for him. The only reason he has 2 rings is the defense. Not his own doing.
