Default Anyone seen Hot Tub Time Machine yet?

"The Drive" figures prominently in one scene. Great stuff.

Seen it last night.

I love the line "count to 90, rip up the carpet and jump around"

I didn't think it would be that good but I liked it, pretty funny.

Why pay $10 a seat to watch a Comedy? The jokes arent any funnier at the theater than at home...

I sort of agree but if a group is going sometimes you don't pick the flick. I generally only go to about 2-3 movies a yr at most. usually though like you are saying it's something you need the big screen for. 3-d, big effects, action flick, etc etc.

This yr I saw.

Star Trek, Avatar, and that Mel Gibson go around kill people avenging daughter thing but i cant remember name......can't believe it really matters though.

Saw it yesterday. Rob Corddry made that movie, he was hilarious.

I like going to comedies in the theater because it's interesting to see what different people find funny.

I love the concept of traveling back to the 80s, but I didn't like what I saw in the trailers...

Personal opinion coming ... and I wouldn't even be Debbie Downer if I hadn't seen something in hear about the drive ... IF anyone sees that part of the movie on Youtube or something POST IT please ...

onto the opinion part...
maybe the dumbest sounding movie of all time , I mean how do you pitch this crap to a studio with a straight face . I write music and over think/analyze this type of stuff.
Like I'll hear something on the radio and just laugh thinking about what I would have thought of myself if i would have wrote that on paper ... I would have been all YOU DORK in my head...

But how you write the story of Hot Tub Time Machine on paper and not just think jeez I'm a tool is just beyond me...

It replaces Snakes on a Plane as dumbest sounding movie on paper ....

Knocked Up, Super Bad, Zach and Miri Make a Porno, 40 Year Old Virgin, Grandma's Boy, and now Hot Tub Time Machine...

same actors, two functions:

A. perpetuate the sexual objectification of women.
B. provide new jokes for high school kids.

sounds like a winning combo. WIth the price of tickets, I dont go to the theater as much but movies like Lord of the Rings, 3d flicks, Star Wars/Trek, etc. are ones you can see at home. Date night is good with comedies but how fast things hit DVD, I can wait. Title sounded pretty lame but I cant imagine the laughs not worth a $1 with Red Box or Netflix.

Well that's part of what makes it funny. The movie makes it clear that the premise is ridiculous.

I saw it over the weekend and thought it was very funny.

Those too young to witness the 80s may not appreciate the humor as much as those who did.

I assume he's talking about the "Craig Robinson" connection. He was also in Zack and Miri, Knocked Up and Pineapple Express (which sadly nobody has mentioned yet - another classic).

I thought it was just OK. I saw it back to back with Tropic Thunder though so that might be why I didn't find PE so funny.

Danny McBride was great in it though....It was a trip seeing him in both of that summer's big comedies.
