I guess the amount of slack given depends on if you contribute to the Bronco's board. That site is much more civil, but it's pretty hard to get banned if you keep it fairly clean. I spent the last couple years over there, but got permantently banned last month and chose this forum over the others available.

I've been on an Infraction-fest since I got there -- probation, suspensions, negs. Almost everyone of them traces back to Alastor. He goes and gets another mod to lay the lumber when he's having a fit.

But basically, Alastor engages you in a "debate" and then hammers away at infractions for things that are substantive, not civility related.

And I've learned this -- the NUMBER ONE thing that gets you in trouble over there is looking the mods in the eye. They've become accustomed to their little echo chamber, and if you don't seem to be kneeling down and genuflecting before them, they pile probation upon infraction, suspension on probation.

At Broncos Country, sucking up the mods is FAR more important (in fact essential) than being civil to other posters or not being aggressive.

And it's carried over to the whole culture over there -- there's a lot of regulars over there (mods included) who need to get the sand out of their vagina.

But it's the "official" board of the Broncos, so I'm not going to just concede it to them and not participate. They need more people who aren't from the echo chamber.

And I think they've got a lot of young college guys who enjoy the mutual stroke-fest of CP's. Some of them are like Stepford Wives -- they've actually convinced themselves that their little CP bar is important.
