Default McNabb to Rams almost done deal per Nfl Network

They said it could be done as soon as today. It would be for the 33rd pick overall and O.J. Atogwe.

Decent deal for both teams and really remakes the draft... Could very well mean that the Rams aren't sold on Sam Bradford. Could also mean they are looking for a stop gap for a year or two while waiting on Sam Bradford. Sucks for McNabb, this is probably a worst case scenario for him. Other than Avery, they don't have anybody worth a crap to throw to.

Brb wikipediaing!

Seriously though, that's an awful trade for the Rams, way to build for the future.

Now I'd really like that 6 pick to snag Bradford...

I doubt McNabb will want to go to the Rams. He wants to play for a contender. He may refuse to sign a long term deal

if mcnabb gets traded for a 2nd rounder, the broncos will never get a first rounder for B-Marsh

Rams GM Billy Devaney shot down reports that his club might acquire Donovan McNabb Wednesday, calling the rumors "absolutely false."

"Nothing to it," another high-ranking Rams official informed Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "It’s utterly ridiculous," Devaney added. "I haven’t talked to Philadelphia about any of their players." "They may have a trade offer, but not from us," yet a third Rams source said. "Why would we trade for McNabb and then go watch (Sam) Bradford throw on Monday?"
----------------------------

Deal could happen...but damn I'd feel bad for McNabb if he was sent to rot in St-Loius

Why? I think that would solidify him as a first rounder. McNabb is done, an OK leader, but not a prime player at the position anymore. Contrary to Marshall who is an elite talent, young, with tons of potential.

a QB's value and that of a WR have nothing to do with one another

not to mention, Brandon has a purty tender waiting for him

I think its going to end up being a player and a pick for BM no #1 unless another team joins the party which they aren't.

We'll get at least a number 1...but, it's not going to happen until draft day or just prior to it.

Look, there's no speed demon WR's in the draft. There are however, big freakish WR's such as Bryant, Thomas, Benn etc.

Any HC/GM willing to spend their #1 on one of those three guys instead of Brandon Marshall ought to be fired on the spot. Those guys have just as much baggage as does BM and they're unproven.

How many guys in the NFL can sport 3 straight 100yd seasons?

Yes, BM will require a big contract. So will a guy like Bryant being a first round pick.

McDaniels won't just give BM away. Watch.

You don't give #1 draft picks away on guys who will be playing 3 more years tops.

WR's who have 7-8 quality years left...that's a different story all together.

All part of the plan. You see, McDaniels is diabolical...he places a tender on a player he knows is not worth the compensation asked for. Said player returns to Denver, ego a little bruised, but more willing to stick around...

McDaniels is a mad genius...

I don't blame mcdaniels for the high tender. I hope they resign him. But as far as his value goes, he damaged goods when you figure in his off the field history. I'll be stunned if the broncos get a first round offer for BM.

on the other hand, I trade a mid to late first rounder for 3 years of mcnabb. I'm not satisified with our QB situation.

Yeah, because one guy is on his way out of the league and one is just hitting his prime. Weak take bud.

STL needs to make this happen if there is any real chance it it actually being true. However I would try and make it for their 3rd rounder and Atogwe. Then you go out and draft Suh, and right away, your team is capable of 5 wins minimum. People don't realize how close STL was last year to actually having a 4 or 5 win season last year. They lost a lot of close games. Games that if they had a QB that could actually make a play they would have won easily. Instead they were dealing with a destroyed Marc Bulger and a very below average Kyle Boller. Put McNabb in there and they wouldn't even have the #1 pick this year.

I agree completely. This is a deal that is good for both teams which means it will probably never happen. Good for the Rams because it allows them to take BPA (Suh or McCoy) instead of gambling on a QB. Good for the Eagles because it allows them to move on with Kolb while getting good value for McNabb. This trade should happen but probably won't.

Ya, if this Sue is as good as a NT as everyone says he is, him and McNabb instantly make this team better, then draft a QB in next years draft, or even in 2 years.
