Time to break this monopoly.

It's becoming 10% of tax revenue.

It's become obcene now, along with the bankers.

Just another reason to hit up your local sports bar during the season.

That **** is the biggest waste on money. You could move out here and go to 6 homes games for that much money.

It went up 50.00 from last year. The lady I spoke with told me to wait till closer the season and they would offer 20.00 off a month. Not a big fan of the dog and pony show just to get a decent price.

Same here. I've had it for about 10 years now, but that is just bs.

I am one of the idiots. I don't know how I would live without it. I don't have any decent sports bars around as I live in a small town. Not to mention, I prefer to watch by myself. ****!

$300 is only insane if more than 10 of their games are going to be broadcast in your local market. Anyone advocating going to a bar instead, for money reasons alone, are misguided. Food tips and drinks in the average sports bar would run me AT LEAST $50 a week, more if Mrs Bean and the kids came along.

I'd burn through that $300 pretty quick in a bar setting.

I know this is not the same, but when I went to Vegas last fall I went to ESPN Zone and watched the Cowboys/Broncos game and they had some minimum per person per hour thing

3 of us spent like 300 bucks by the end of the game, granted we were all really trashed

Personally I don't see the big deal ... As someone who lives in Ohio I see it as not that much to actually get to see the game I want and not be forced to watch the crap games the networks show me.

After my Broncos go off I can watch whatever game effects me or whatever game is good.

As much as it cost to go to one game , I see Sunday ticket as a bargain , I get to see every game in my home with no morons and if you break it down at cost per game when you are getting 12-16 games a week it aint that much really.

Aside from the $ part of it I also don't like Direct TV. I have Verizon FIOS and won't switch. Plus Hooters has boobies.

I followed someone's advice here last year and called Directv and got something like $120 off the Season Ticket ($20 off for 6 months) and they threw in Super Fan for free after I told them it was too expensive and that I was thinking of not renewing the Season Ticket.

I saved $220 for just making a few phone calls.

Be persistent if you don't get the deal the first few times you call.

I tried that, after getting it every year since 1997 when I switched to DirecTv and they said, OK, we will not renew your subscription. 8 months later, I called to cancel complete service and switch to FIOS, they were tryign everything to get me to stay, but screw that!

Old customers get crapped on, new customers get all sorts of good deals! (same with any company tho, cell service, etc.)

I think we called and talked to 3 or 4 different reps for Directv and each one said "No such discount exists."....even though I know numerous people received it on this board.

Tried again and the next rep said "Sure, not a problem, you've been a loyal customer since 2000."....and that was that and it only took a few minutes.

My comment on hitting the sports bar has ZERO to do with saving money. It beats having the game at home where I have to cook for a roomful of friends + I can watch every game at once.... a must for fantasy football

I am just going to call and get it reduced. I called to drop Showtime last week, I ended up getting 6 more months of Showtime. I also got HBO and SKINaMax free for 3 months

If you have Sunday ticket, there's no need to watch every game. You can track your fantasy players with the system they have set up on DTV. I love my Directv and will NEVER change it. NFL Sunday Ticket is exclusive and won't be leaving any time soon. Plus, the only game I honestly CARE about watching on Sundays is the Denver game. The rest of them I'll just watch highlights if they're on at the same time Denver is playing.

I enjoyed watching the Red Zone channel last year for the early games, when Denver was not playing.
