Default For the 2010 NFL draft... the Broncos select...

DE Derrick Morgan - arguably the most versatile defensive player in this draft.

Look at how fast this guy gets off the line (he's projected to possibly go right before us)

On a serious note - we do have Ayers and Dumervil, however this guy seemingly fits the tough smart physical football player build the Broncos are looking for. He scored a 24 on the wonderlic.

His 10 yard split was faster than Kindles. (it was 1.6, the fastest this year was 1.58 (for pass rushers). Last year the fastest 10 yard split belonged to Clay Matthews).

http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/theda...errick-morgan/

Morgan weighed 16 pounds more than the 250-pound Kindle, yet ran a 4.78 in the 40-yard dash, compared with 4.7 for Kindle.

Morgan ran the 20-yard dash in 2.74 (2.73 for Kindle) and covered 10 yards in 1.6 seconds (1.63 for Kindle).

Morgan bench-pressed 225 pounds 34 times, nine more times than Kindle and also had faster times in the shuttle run (4.43 to 4.54) and cone drills (7.14 to 7.27).

Just a thought to be honest...

I'd be absolutely shocked if we picked him, if he is even still on the board. Ayers and Dumervil will hopefully be starting and playing well on the edges, Morgan isn't a 3-4 guy and doesn't fill a need. IMO

I promise you we won't select Derik Morgan. He is a 4-3 DE, and wouldn't fit as an OLB in a 3-4. TRY AGAIN.

I'm not sure we exactly address a "need" in the first round... because what are our needs right now? ILB and OG, C... maybe bring in a younger Safety (some people are speculating Berry falls to us, or even drafting Earl Thomas would be interesting)...

The Dolphins have interviewed him. He and Robert Ayers both weigh over 270, ran similar 40's.

Many people are looking at him to be a OLB conversion... he's an athletic guy.

Like you mentioned, We already have Doom and Ayers. A wasted 1st round pick when we have other more pressing needs at this time.

Certainly you can never have too many pass rushers. Just ask the Giants.

I would be shocked if the broncos don't select either Rolando McClain or God I hope not this early but Mike Iupati or Maurice Pouncey in the first round.

at the risk of a lynching, i'd suggest that you could carry Ayer/Morgan/Dumervil for a year and then franchise and trade Dumervil next year.

Hypothetically, Ayers and Morgan would be more complete 3-down OLB's.

Just offering it up, not saying I'd do it.

We have safties coming out our ears. WTF? Unless McBath and Bruton suck as bad as I think.

If Marshall goes, WTF happens since Moreno can't get outside, even with Graham.

Spiller or a ILB.

No way we draft Dez.

We do need more depth at RB. Arrington is more of a return man then RB and he is facing huge odds to make the team. I love what Buck brings but he is dinged up a lot.
