Default I just went through my first earthquake

What an experience! I am still shaken up over it. Early reports are saying 7.0 off the coast of Okinawa.

That was insane, felt like I was on a boat in rough seas.

Stay away from the coast. A tsunami alert has been issued.

Rtribbey how close was it to Atsugi Japan? I have a friend and his family stationed there at the navy base.

No where close, TD.

Okinawa is like 900 miles away from Tokyo (near Atsugi)

Earthquakes are scary and a minute feels like forever. Uh, worried mother, son in Korea, is there any report of damage anywhere.

I was at work for the last one we had here.

I ended up under my desk while on the phone, it was pretty funny.

Experienced my first while stationed in Pendleton, definitely a strage experience. I don't think it was anywhere near 7.0 though. Glad you're safe

Cept you were safe on an Air Force Base. You'll never have to be on a boat in rough seas!

I went through my 1st one that was nearly half that a couple weeks ago and I live in Chicagoland.

It was weird for awhile after.

One of the many reasons why I don't mind living where I do. No quakes, no blizzards, no tornados, no hurricanes, no avalanches, no massive floods, no volcanos, no tsunamis. But you gotta be able to take the insane heat for 6 months of the year, lol.

Be safe man!
There was an early report of a threat of a tsunami triggered by the eathquake.
The threat is no longer in effect.
Take care. And thanks for serving our country

Totally.

I never knew how powerful the earth could be. I have experienced hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, and blizzards, but this takes the cake. I am still amazed how the ground was just rocking. It felt like someone picked up the building and just started tilting it back and forth.
