Highlights:
* Gaffney filled in great against KC, didn't miss me at all. * Team lost down the stretch and that brought frusturation. Thinks the entire organization including himself should've handled things differently but that's all in the past now. * Last time Coach called was to congratulate on the Pro Bowl. It was nice to hear his voice. * Tough to leave the team that drafted you, it is a business though. * Would love to be a Denver Bronco moving forward. * CBA effects he and many other players drafted in the '06 class, it's the business side of things. *EDIT* Link: http://www.nfl.com/videos/denver-bro...arshall-on-set Last edited by montrose; 02-04-2010 at 10:48 AM.. |

After listening to his interviews and McDs, I don't even think they know WTF is going to happen. I think that's why everybody's playing both sides of the fence because of how this could turn out.

Honestly we should just keep him. Sign him to a Roddy White type of deal and let's keep building, we don't need to lose one of our best players on offense.

Jeez, If he says the right things he's a two faced liar ........ If he says what he feels he's a selfish team hater.
Dude is in a can't win situation. |

Won't fix the problem, but if you want highly productive and talented wide recievers on your team, you generally have to deal with head cases. Having a team full of Rudy's who win championships usually only happens in the movies.

Brandon Marshall open to playing for Broncos next season
FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. — Call Brandon Marshall a talented receiver. Call the Broncos' star receiver a magnet for drama and controversy. And now call him contrite. "Learning from last year and last offseason, I approached things unprofessional," Marshall said today at the Super Bowl XLIV media center. "This offseason I'm just going to go with the flow and just go in whatever direction the Broncos want to go." After not granting interviews during the Pro Bowl events last week, Marshall broke his silence today so he could promote the NFL 2009 Season in Review DVD that comes out June 1. Marshall's record-setting, 21-catch game against the Indianapolis Colts, who are here preparing to play the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl XLIV, is featured prominently on the DVD. Marshall was an unhappy Bronco last year when he protested his contract situation by holding out from a mandatory minicamp in June and acting up during a preseason practice in August. He put his issues behind him to make 101 catches through 15 games, but he found more trouble in the season's final week. When he tweaked his hamstring in a Wednesday practice, and showed up 20 minutes late for treatment on Friday morning, Marshall was deactivated from the final game against Kansas City. Is Marshall now having second thoughts about wanting leaving the Broncos? "I don't know if I would call it, second thoughts," Marshall said. "Last year I handled things totally wrong. I just looked at the business side of things and took things too personally. This year I'm going to remove myself from the situation and let the Broncos decide the direction we're going to go in as an organization." Mike Klis: 303-954-1055 or mklis@denverpost.com. Oh, and the 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers biggest offensive star was Brad Johnson. The 2000 Baltimore Ravens? Jamaal Lewis. Most teams who won a title thanks to great defense didn't have an elite WR. A lot of them have lacked elite QBs too. Lot of different ways to a championship. Terrell Owens makes it seem like giving huge money to unreliable yet highly talented stars isn't a great way to achieve that goal though. I'd prefer Marshall to stay, but the ball is in his court. He needs to take an extension that protects the Broncos from his propensity for bad choices. If he'd do that this would all be resolved quickly. |

The interesting thing here is, what are the negatives of paying Marshall? I assume you could say the risk of another suspension, a possible lack of motivation and/or showing the league you can get what you want from Denver if you're good enough.
For me, I've always been of the feeling that McDaniels was not hired here for his offensive genius, or to work with any certain player. He was brought here to bring a culture of team-first opposed to me-first and after batting Marshall on-and-off for a year because of these exact principles - to reward him with a big contract might counteract that. It's going to be very interesting. |

The camera loves this kid. He's going to have a bright career in broadcasting after he's done playing ball.

As far as TO, he had to go, but after getting rid of him the 49ers and Eagles haven't done as well as they did with him. Last edited by Gob; 02-04-2010 at 12:59 PM.. |
