about chicago not being able to find offensive staff
The perception is that no one wants to come work for Smith, who is in a win-or-else situation, but rumblings at the Senior Bowl are that some candidates could be turned off by quarterback Jay Cutler and don’t want to hitch their wagon to him. Still, few quarterbacks possess the skills of Cutler. Today marks Day 21 of the coaching search. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/...ordinator.html |

Why don't all of you Bears fans just head on over to the Bears message boards?

Because of the CBA it's going to be tough to add players in FA this year, chicago has no picks in the 1st 2 rounds, and EVERYONE knows Lovie is facing a make or break season... I don't doubt Jays atitude plays a part but this is much more a statement of job security.

I think part of it is Jay Culter's reputation of not accepting coaching (small part, but it's out there) and the big part is that Lovie is probably gone after this year, so you're going into a no-win situation. You need a one-year rental - paging Lane Kiffen, Lane Kiffen to the white curtesy phone.

Cross Zampese off Bears list too
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 26, 2010 10:08 AM ET Does anyone want to work with Jay Cutler around here? Anyone? Hue Jackson canceled an interview for the Bears offensive coordinator position Tuesday, and now the Chicago Tribune writes that Bengals quarterback coach Ken Zampese is also out of the mix. In this case, the decision wasn't Zampese's to make. Bengals coach Marvin Lewis gave Zampese a one-week deadline to make a decision after interviewing for the Bears job. Zampese didn't get an offer, so he's out of the running. Jackson is the second coach to cancel an interview with Chicago; Jeremy Bates went to Seattle without meeting with the Bears. This leaves the Bears at square one. The only other man to interview was Rob Chudzinski, who apparently doesn't want the job either. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ears-list-too/ |

The first part of Lovie in a possible one more year and done can have a bigger effect than working with Cutler. If it is all on Cutler to these "candidates", then we can safely say that Cutler is a coach killer before they even become the coach.

I'd just like everyone to take note once again that a Bears/Cutler thread was once again started and once again not by the "widows"

the cutler thing is completely minor compared to lovie being a lame duck for sure, but it is a factor.

Yo Tsiguy,
You should modify the thread title and make it more specific. Ala Cutler turns off candidates. rumblings at the Senior Bowl are that some candidates could be turned off by quarterback Jay Cutler Like I said in the Cutler interview thread. You don't put a player like Cutler in charge of your franchise coaching hires. You tell Cutler who is going to be his coach and tell him to deal with it as a young, still learning the NFL game quarterback. Allowing Cutler any say is giving the "stroke" to a player that hasn't earned it. It also tells the candidates that they will not have any power over the QB. |

You are wrong. They are all posted by widows. We are just now figuring out who the biggest widows really are. The ones that defend giving away Cutler are the ones that can't get over him.

believe me, i think theres very few bronco fans left who truly want him back. even after the OMG denver will be soooo bad without cutler!! mantra we heard all offseason, many of those people realized this team is better off long run without him. and the evidence continues to pour in that its true.

As for the dumbasses thinking we are better without Cutler, I still laugh. Orton is complete ****. Just wait a few years. You will see the retardation that has plagued Bronco fans since McDaniels took over. When Cutler starts to put it together, there will be no defending McDaniels. He better turn this organization around quickly or people will start getting pissed again. |

The Bears have no influence in our draft anymore. They are in the NFC... we aren't playing them for two more years.
Yeah it's funny... but who really cares? |

anyways, one thing i do find funny here is that people who dont like that cutler snubbed denver (we are a 6 afterall) are not allowed to discuss him because its us thats obsessed with him. maybe you dont want to discuss him because you people were 100% dead wrong about him, and seeing stuff like this just proves it? defense mechanism or something

The teams in the NFC figure to be very strong teams next year, so the Bears face an uphill climb to say the least of making the playoffs. The Eagles and Giants could be strong teams too and didn't even make the playoffs. Same with Atlanta.
