McDaniels interview with Denver Post on 1/23

* Broncos will be a power running team. To be good at the zone you have to do it all the time, we will run a little zone but won't be dedicated to it.

* Says new QB coach Ben McDaniels is intense and can relate to the players.

* Says he's the same coach at 8-8 that he was at 6-0, he didn't change a thing about how he coaches during this past season. Says he gets along with 99 percent of the people he works with.

* Says Mike Nolan's departure regarding blitzing was totally false. The parting was mutual and the Broncos defensive philosophy isn't going anywhere. It's in it's 2nd year and will get better. The departure is the best for the Broncos and Nolan, everybody wins.

Yeah whatever. Broncos need to bring in guys like Wilfork and Seymour if they want this team to move in the right direction and the problem is, why would any owner at this point want to sign somebody to a huge/long term contract with a ton of money up front? Knowing that in 2011 there will most likely not be football, you'd be giving a guy a boat load of cash for year one, nothing in year two, and then assuming the CBA is completed and favors the owners this time, a contract that is very high compared to what the new CBA will allow for. I guess it just means we will likely not be signing too many big names.

I guess I'd like to know what our defensive philosophy really is...is it really that obvious?

I'd welcome this team being able to get conversions on 2nd or 3rd and short, which they have not been able to do in years. Tired of seeing this team not able to pick up a freaking yard when they need it.

I understand what he is saying but it is a little funny to see those phrases put together.
