Oakland wasn't the only AFC West team making coaching news Saturday night. The Broncos announced the hiring of Bob Ligashesky as tight ends coach and Eric Studesville as running backs coach. Ligashesky was most recently a special teams coach in Pittsburgh. Studesville has spent the last six years as a running backs coach in Buffalo. The Broncos also moved some of their coaches to new positions. Clancy Barone is now the offensive line coach, with Bob Wylie as assistant offensive line coach. Ben McDaniels was promoted to quarterbacks coach. Mike McCoy will remain the team's offensive coordinator, but gave up quarterbacks coaching duties. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...e-two-coaches/ |

Clarence Barone (born July 26, 1963 in San Andreas, California), commonly known as Clancy, is the Offensive Line Coach for the National Football League's Denver Broncos.Prior to being named the Offensive Line Coach for the Broncos, he served as the Broncos Tight Ends Coach. He also has served as offensive line and tight ends coach for the Atlanta Falcons as well as tight ends coach for the San Diego Chargers.
Prior to coaching the Falcons, Barone had coached offensive lines at seven different colleges for 18 years. Barone coached five Outland Trophy semifinalists and three Rimington Trophy semifinalists. The NFL drafted 27 of the players he coached in college football. As a coach in the National Football League he has coached in the NFC Championship Game, The AFC Championship Game, two Pro Bowl Games (once as an Offensive Line Coach and once as the Tight Ends Coach) and has been instrumental in the development of two of the top tight ends to ever play in the NFL: Alge Crumpler of the Atlanta Falcons and Antonio Gates of the San Diego Chargers. Barone is considered, by his peers and players, to be one of the best Tight End coaches in the National Football League. Barone is a highly souht after "Motivational/Life Coach" speaker and spends his free time in the off-season as a speaker for corporations and private groups, often speaking on team building or how to achieve in every day life to be your best. He coined the phrase "Take care of the Dash."[citation needed] [edit]Coaching history 2010- Offensive Line, Denver Broncos 2009 Tight Ends Denver Broncos 2007-08 Tight Ends, San Diego Chargers 2005-06 - Tight Ends, Atlanta Falcons 2004 - Offensive Line, Atlanta Falcons 2003 - Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator, Texas State 2000-02 - Offensive Line and Offensive Coordinator, Houston 1997-99 - Offensive Line and Offensive Coordinator, Wyoming 1994-96 - Offensive Line, Eastern Illinois 1993 - Assistant Offensive Line, Texas A&M 1991-92 - Offensive Line, Sacramento State 1987-90 - Offensive Line, American River |

It's too bad McDaniels doesn't have more brothers and ex high school teammates around we'd be stacked!

Real happy with the Studesville hire. He'll hopefully do wonders for Knowshon.

I think with the proper interior line for McDaniels' scheme (bigger guys like Hochstein only obviously more talented) and this guy's teachings (look what he did with Fred Jackson, etc), Knowshon could be very impressive.

New Broncos coach Josh McDaniels continued to fill out his staff Wednesday, adding younger brother Ben McDaniels and Jay Rodgers as assistant coaches. Ben McDaniels, 28, will coach his first season in the NFL after he was in charge of quarterbacks at Massillon Jackson High School in Ohio last year. He played quarterback at Kent State from 1999-2001. ![]() ![]() |
