Default Norv

A. He's overachieving to even have his team in the position they were in today. That team isn't very good.

B. Too many fails in big games. He's their problem.

I don't know, they were chokers under Marty and Norv. Maybe they just are chokers, period.

I still think Marty was more the victim of some bad luck rather than being a bad coach.

But, it was fun being on the other side of it.

Agreed, Shanny would have raped with Rivers.

Anyways. Will he get canned... Well, I guess the question is, who could they get to coach? If they have an upgrade, they should take it.

I wonder if they could get Gruden to break the contract he just signed. I think he'd be good there. Really with the weapons that team has, they should be much better then they are. Any good coach should have rings with Rivers. You need a great QB and he is that.

This one's on Nate Kaeding as much, or more, than anyone or anything else. That and the Chargers inability to run the football, and the fact that their defense is good but not really much more than that, caught up with them. I don't put this on Norv.

I bet Kaeding is on a Jet to Vegas to pick up a suitcase full of cash, the bookies loved those botched kicks.

Why would bookies love the botched kicks? Even if he made all three, the Chargers still wouldn't have covered the spread. And bookies don't have any vested interest in one team winning over the other, they want equal action on both sides so they make money either way.

While technically you're right, one thing I've heard said is that "America loves favorites," meaning even though they want action on both sides, the average Joe placing a bet is still more likely to bet with the favorite. So I could see the Jets winning as a good thing for the bookies.

Obviously they make money either way, but just a thought.

I guarantee you every book out there....From Vegas to off-shore to the guy on the corner....Is very, very happy with today's results.

Playoff games see a shxt load of teaser action. Joe public was ALL OVER teasing SD down to -1.5 and teasing the cowpokes up to +8.5.

Both of those teasers went through BOTH key numbers of 3 and 7 and the public LOVES those sort of Teasers....Especially on public teams like SD & Dallas.

They play good in the regular season and then come back to earth in the playoffs.

To much hype from the media all over their nuts.

Making them their Superbowl picks in the pre season.

SD fans want respect, were not getting attention, no one is paying attention to us.

How about win something and maybe someone or something will.

Go...
Dude, even Josh McDaniels could win with that team. Norv got conservative when it mattered. The offense wasn't the problem though. The defense hasn't been able to stop the run all year and that team played with poor discipline, something they've done pretty well this year. Couple that with a bunch of missed FGs from a pro-bowl kicker and "waa-laa" an epic defeat! I loved it though I have to admit, I would rather the Chargers go than the Colts. Can't stand the fact that the Colts pussied out and wouldn't accept the challenge to try and be the best of all time.

Here is a string of posts from one of the biggest sports wagering forums out there....(It covers all aspects of the industry and everyone from touts to players to bookies post there)

If I could have three wishes:

1) Norv Turner remains head coach of the Chargers for the next 20 years;

2) Al Davis lives to 100, and retains control of the Raiders;

and

3) Carl Peterson returns as GM of the Chiefs.

Yep.

Aside from the Kaeding choke, the Jets just played better (especially on defense). I've made it known that I haven't been the biggest Norv fan, though he's won me over this season, but I don't put this loss at his feet.

I still think he deserves an extension.

So, how's that worked out for Denver the past three years?

The Chargers should have won the game today but they've got some holes to fix on this team. That's AJ Smith's job this off season. Norv and his coaching staff did an excellent job to take this team as far as they could IMO.

Man, I have cringed at the thought if SD ever wakes up and hires a good coach to put that roster over the hump. Thankfully going on 6 years, it has not happened! Fail on San Diego!
