Default Pro Football Focus' Ratings of Denver

I found this site: http://www.profootballfocus.com/csta...pe=r&playerid= and thought it was interesting as they rated players in every single player for the entire season. A green is good (higher the better), red is obviously bad.

Interesting notes...
Offensively
- Brandon Marshall was easily the best receiver on the team
- Jabar Gaffney had the best rating in screen blocking
- Daniel Graham as the best screen blocker, Tony Scheffler was the best pass blocker, and Richard Quinn in brief play was the best run blocker
- Casey Wiegmann and Ryan Clady were the only positives in run blocking while Ryan Clady and Chris Kuper were the only positives in pass blocking. Ben Hamilton was the worst blocker on the team and Tyler Polumbus was awful in pass blocking.
- Kyle Orton scored a respectable 18.0 in passing and the Broncos dropped 30 passes as a team. Was most effective in the 0-9 yard range with 13 TD vs. 3 INT. 10-19 yards he had 1 TD vs. 5 INT and 20+ yards he had 4 TD vs. 4 INT.
- Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter were the only positive runners but Moreno was also positive in pass blocking, a great sign.

Defensively
- Vonnie Holliday was the best D-Line player. Great grab there but to no surprise, the defensive line needs big improvement. Ronald Fields was good against the run and Darrell Reid was able to generate good pass rushing. Kenny Peterson was the worst by far though.
- The linebackers were mostly really good against the run. DJ Williams struggled in both coverage and the run but was a good pass rusher. Turn him into a 3rd down rush specialist? Doom had a 21.2 pass rush rating but a horrible -12.1 run defense.
- The secondary was mostly good against the pass although Andre Goodman struggled to defend the run. Darcel McBath was the second highest rated player in pass coverage. Alphonso Smith was the lowest rated.

Secondary
- Rookies Darcel McBath and David Bruton paid major dividends here. They combined for a 4.5 on kickoff coverage
- Spencer Larsen and Wesley Woodyard were both very productive
- Matt Prater was exceptional on kickoffs

Apologies. Secondary at the bottom should read Special Teams and PFF rated every player in every play of the season.

But I thought it was interesting that some of the roles rookies were drafted for (Quinn as a blocker, McBath and Bruton for special teams) were shown to be paying off immediately.

interesting about DJ, sorta confirms what a lot of peoople think, he makes a good play then disappears for awhile.

its amazing what the coaches did for this team teh first 6 weeks to make them SO dominant. for all the b****ing everyone does about going 2-8, they ignore that mcdaniels and co turned an average group of players into superstars for awhile. unfortunately talent level got caught up with.

That analysis is honestly, incredibly generous, like written by Popps.

This confirms a lot. Moreno is an all around back. Orton is part of the solution not part of the problem, the Oline outside of Clady and Kupe was terrible (surprised about Harris' ratings), Doom sucks against the run, DJ just sucks, Vonnie Holiday needs to be resigned, and Alphonso Smith is a waste of a draft pack (as of right now).

Edit: McBean and Peterson suck. Quantitative corroboration of what my eyes have seen!

How can I be ignorant about it? Did you know my right middle toe curls over the one next to it? You are an ignorant ass about toe deformities.

If you weren't a crazy jackass I wouldn't point things like this out. Way to hate on sending aid to Haiti, too. You stay classy, mock.

Bullshiat.

Moreno is a 4th round back. Orton is a backup. Clady regesses as did Royal. Doom is not a franchise player. DJ played out of position for the 6th year. Smith sucks.

Peterson does not suck. Fields did not suck, nor Davis or Haggan.

This analysis sucked, and is worthless.

Did he grade the offense on 3rd down? or the 2-8 finish?

The whole piece was worthless.

BTW, sorry if I got some words wrong. I guuess I should go back into the hospise, huh, so I don't make you look like an idiot.

Oh, sorry about your toe, how insensitive of me.

I never said sending aid to Haiti was wrong, I said it may be the Frenchies problem. And the UN's.

I don't know where you get that bullshiat.

How much is France doing, or anywhere else?

Sarcasm is lost on you. As is common sense. I forgot how silly it is to engage in conversation with you.

If you... oh, actually bothered to click the link, watermock, you'd realize that I have absolutely ZERO to do with anything on that site. I was merely reporting the findings and ratings that were applied to the players by the group that runs above site. And again, they graded the players on every single snap of the entire season, from the great 6-0 start to the horrible 2-8 finish.

I thought some of the ratings were interesting in light of why certain players were drafted, kept or signed, and praised after certain post game conferences.

You can also click the player names and get more detailed information, week to week. You can do that for any player, and they also have a drop down so you can see Champ Bailey's statistics on coverage. If you want to see Moreno's ratings in the 2-8 run, you can do so. Here, I'll do it for you.

Week 10: 1.9 Rushing
Week 11: 0.1 Rushing
Week 12: 2.9 Rushing
Week 13: -1.1 Rushing
Week 14: -0.4 Rushing
Week 15: -1.2 Rushing
Week 16: -1.0 Rushing
Week 17: 1.6 Rushing

Here's his individual player page: http://www.profootballfocus.com/by_p...d=4935&group=4

Note that in his positive games, he generally made guys miss tackles and scored touchdowns. He was only rated as having 3 good games. Week 10 he had a 5.4 YPC and made 2 tacklers miss. Week 12 he scored 1 TD and made 3 tacklers miss. Week 17, he had 2 TD and made 4 tacklers miss.
