Shanahan signs former Broncos draft pick
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 14, 2010 1:47 PM ET
The Denver-to-Washington pipeline is open for business.

Let it be known: Center/guard Kory Lichtensteiger was the first signing of the Shanahan era. A fourth-round pick by Shanahan in 2008, the lightweight lineman was cut by Denver, then Minnesota last year.

Former Broncos running back coach Bobby Turner became Shanahan's first official coaching hire earlier Thursday.

And the Shanahan tradition of employing players that can't get a job anywhere else in the league continues. Webster and McCree better stay by their phones.

I think it's a little early to give up on Lichtensteiger. He's young still yet.

True, a young OL that can't find a team is usually not a good sign.

Anthony Alridge already with the Skins twice prior to Shanahan getting there. He was signed Feb 12 2009 then cut. He was picked up by Texans, then resigned by the Skins Dec 9 2009. All they did was pick up his option on Jan 6th. Didn't Mike become the coach the 5th?

To do what?

Bruce Allen was hired before Shanahan, FYI. So unless Jim Goodman wants to go back to being a scout at his age he won't be going to Washington.

Not as annoying as Scott Hastings, but still pretty bad. I wish they never split up D-mac & Oren though

Yes. Please put those pathetic douchebags back together in the late time slot so I never have to hear either of them again. Oren Lamentable is thankfully in a time slot I never listen to. How the dimwitted jackass deemac got on drive time is unfathomable. I resent not being able to listen to Al because of that clown.

You mean picking up former Broncos then watch the Redskin faithful get all pissed off? Gee, where have I seen that before?

Oren dont know jack. His show sucks. D Mac is not to horrible. Although he gets on my nerves. Alfred while i loved him as a player. Not so much as a host.

The one local guy that does tv that i do like is.... Victor Rogers. I like him better then Alfred i think he knows more about football(yes i know). I just think Alfred comes in for a paycheck and to talk about his gout.
