By Ambassador Marc Ginsberg
Excerpt: Let it be clearly understood that Al Qaeda's resurgence in Yemen can, in no small part, be traced back to Dick Cheney. In 2007, Cheney personally authorized the release of 11 Saudis from Gitmo, who then passed through a leaky Saudi halfway house terrorist rehabilitation program to rejoin Al Qaeda. Two of the 11 former detainees took the express jihadi underground railroad to rejoin Al Qaeda in Yemen... Based on a comprehensive review by the Defense Intelligence Agency 14% of the 530 Gitmo detainees released through Cheney's direct approval (74 to be exact) have either been identified as reengaging in terrorism or suspected of doing so. So Cheney authorized the release of unrepentant hardened terrorists to his Saudi friends. Having cut their shackles from the Saudis, these escapees are now training and recruiting the likes of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab and threatening to attack the U.S. embassy in Yemen, and Cheney has the chutzpah to accuse Democrats of being soft on terrorism! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/amb-ma..._b_410614.html |

So the liberals get what they want in the release of prisoners and shut down of that such horrid Gitmo where torture was happening 24/7 according to them and still b****? Shocking they want it both ways.

I'm guessing Fox won't be covering this story.

The lynchpin has always been the Saudis. And will continue. Their survival depends on being the "keepers of the faith".
After 9/11 THEY are the ones we had reason to invade. |

Thanx I couldn't have said it better. Don't mistake this post for any amount of support or defense for Cheney. I wish he'd just go away into retirement like most other VP's...ok well except algore |

As long as the US government keeps cuddling up the Saudis nothing will ever change in terms of islamist terror.

Hopefully Obama won't make the same mistake... eh, right? Oh yah, whatever Obama does is always right, never mind that Cheney already capitulated to the jihadists... |

![]() Right-wing jackals like you were adamantly opposed to the release of those same prisoners, and now we find out that the VP you were blowing was letting the 'worst of the worst' go. No surprise that you and your buddies on the right have elected not to comment on that. |

Bush was stupid to let any of those terrorists go. Saudis used there power to sway Bush and Cheney into believing the rehabilitation centers would work. More then likely they knew they wouldn't but we can't afford to piss them off I guess.
Hopefully Obama learns from this and just executes all of them. Don't let any more of them go. Just set fire to Gitmo and let them all burn up. |
