Default Percy Harvin Offensive ROY (ie, come in and slate Knowshon Broncos "fans")

Voting for the 2009 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year selected by The Associated Press in balloting by a nationwide panel of the media:

Percy Harvin, WR-KR, Minnesota 41
Michael Oher, T, Baltimore 6
Jeremy Maclin, WR-KR, Philadelphhia 1
Knowshon Moreno, RB, Denver 1
Mike Wallace, WR, Pittsburgh 1

I just know the posters who will be in here to tear Knowshon a new one. Sigh.

I am not sure when 790 receiving yards and 100 rushing yards became good enough to be OROY. This has to be one of the most pathetic offensive outputs ever by an OROY, Royal had a lot better numbers.

It is a shame that this years award goes to a special teams player. Knowshon had a lot more offensive yards and more TDs, but the winner should have been Oher.

This pretty much kicks the "East Coast Bias" crowd in the nuts, doesn't it.

Harvin?

Oher? He's more know about for the movie than the player.

Voting must have happen durring mid-season. Knowshon had better numbers, Sanchez got his team to the playoffs...

Poor year for offensive Rookie players.

Harvin helped get his team to the playoffs. Maybe that was an influencing factor...

Harvin did better than I thought he would.

Not sure how long he's going to be in the league though.

A thread always has great potential when you are a drama queen in the title.

Moreno is good but I can't argue with the pick. Harvin played well and made the playoffs. Good job Percy.

Percy Harvin was stellar this year. While his numbers were not as good as Eddie Royals, you can clearly see that Harvin is a more dynamic player. Excellent returner and a receiver that did a lot of damage in the 2nd half of the season. Had he not missed two or three games with migraines his numbers would have been even better. Unfortunately for Knowshon, his worst games were during the time that Harvin was having his best. In the long run, I'm glad we have who we have!!!

nothing wrong with the pick. Not too many thought he could handle the NFL. Proves, so far, he has.

Are you kidding? A rookie playing RT and LT for a team with one of the best rushing attacks in the league. That is a lot better than a special teamer.

Do you think Josh Cribbs should get the offensive player of the year award? he is an awesome special teams player, he had more than 2500 total yards this year.

I don't understand your logic at all. How many games did you actually watch Oher play?
