Default why havent we signed bobby april yet?

he was released (or opted out of contract) by bills, and is available to pick up for special teams coach. arguably the best ST coach in the NFL, why dont we have him yet...

He refuses to work with Berger.

I can't blame him.

I thought Tony's sister capped him after he busted her in the mouth.

I realize you were trying (and failing) to be funny, but Berger isn't even on the Denver Broncos.

Meh, punter aside, I liked the improvement in our special teams by the end of the year. I'd rather have the continuity.

Some people really dont think before they answer.

Lets just assume that the bills did have the best special teams units over the past 3 years (who knows if thats true)

When you think of the best kick returners in the NFL, when does Roscoe Parrish enter the conversation?

easy there superfan... no need to get nasty about it.

As much as it pains me to say this, you might be on to something. Unfortunately it looks like he wants a shot at being a head coach. I'm guessing that might have something to do with him not being here.

http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/story/913479.html

Bobby April made it official Tuesday: He's not part of the Buffalo Bills' future.

April ended an outstanding six-year run as the Bills' special teams coordinator by exercising an option in his contract that allowed him to leave the team. All of the Bills' assistant coaches are free to leave, and all of them will be gone unless the Bills' new head coach decides he has a spot for them on his staff. April, however, decided he did not want to wait around to see if the new head coach would be interested in him.

"I wanted clarity so everyone else in the league would know where I stood," April said. "There could be an assumption that I'm here until the new head coach decides if I'm here, and that's not the case."

April joined the Bills in 2004 and has held the added title of assistant head coach since 2006.

The fact the Bills were not going to interview him for their head-coaching position evidently caused April to decide it was time to go elsewhere.

Asked if that was a big factor in his decision, April said: "It's been my goal, and I've worked diligently for about 20 years to be a head coach. So I'll let that be my answer."

So is this the part where i question how lazy or stupid you are

Dude.....I was kidding. I knew tsiguy was getting at the coach....so the poster before me (as well as me) posted anything we could think of DIFFERENT. And regardless, I believe Parrish WOULD at least enter the conversation....

Jeeesh.

The Bills have a history of good STs well before Bobby April got there. It is practically their legacy. You do realize there is a history in the NFL prior to you becoming a fan, right?

Not saying April isn't a good coach...but you really make it seem that it is as easy for Denver as hiring a coach to get a #1 ranking on ST.

Go look at the credentials of someone like O'Brien. Arguably just as good as April's. What did that get Denver?

Talk about over-simplifying an issue.
