Default Where are all the "I'm proud of this team" threads?

Don't we have to have at least one "I am proud of the way this team lost the game" threads to complete the Epic Failure that was this season?

Steven, you're so whiney. Honestly, you must be insufferable in real life.

Anyhoo... I have been very proud of this team for most of this season. Today? Not so much.

I'm glad you got to make a thread about it, though. Hopefully this loss fulfills your need to whine and b**** for the whole off-season.

It is what it is. We finished .500. Some highs, some lows... but certainly a disappointing finish.

Time will tell. As I've said, this is either the process of flushing out an old attitude... or just another late season decline.

Beyond that, what gripes like yourself seem to miss is that we just need more talent. We're not as talented as a lot of teams in this league. Why is that so hard to grasp?

Do people think we're just entitled to win because of what we did in the 90s?

We need more players.

I've got to admit, at 6-0 I was trying to figure out how I could have missed everything so badly.

Hmmm... Maybe I should bump my crow thread

So much for the messiah as head coach. So exactly what has he improved? Can we get a single thing the offensive genius fixed this season?

I thought we played very well against the Eagles. Showed lots of heart and I for the first time in awhile was impressed with the fight in the team. Instead of building on that we go into a must win game with mid week drama and then a gigantic let down on epic level's to finish the year 8-8 and another flat out pathetic loss to end the season at home.

It's a work in progress. Defense and STs were better almost the entire season.

The offense definitely needs personnel upgrades, starting on the line.

I'm not sure why people are so giddy about a loss like this?

Sadly, this team is going to wish it could compete for the playoffs as much as the 2000's bronco teams did.

Bottom line, this fanbase is fat and spoiled and won't really appreciate what they had until they've been through insufferable circumstances like the Lions... or Browns.

Unfortunately, that's the way the franchise is leaning. This team has holes across the roster and the duct tape we used this offseason, and the building blocks we sacrificed aren't coming back.

I hope i'm wrong. Doubt I am.

You win with difference makers. We've managed to drive off two of our best players on offense... 3 if you count Scheffler from a production standpoint. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ryan Clady on the block either.

The defense was supposed to be our strenght but boy, did the wheels fall of today against the dominant KC running game. Most of the vets on this defense have a remaining shelflife of two years... three, at the most. Matter of factly, some of those vets will probably be with the franchise longer than McDaniels will.

All we wanted was a team made of second string players on the field.
Who wanted to see Marshall, Scheffler, Royal, Hillis on the field getting significant playing time.
all we wanted was to see expansion type players like Gaffney to catch a lot of balls but ZERO TD's.
As reality has it, the only player that caught a TD pass in this game was Brandon Stokley. A member of the second best offense in the NFL in 2008.
The rest of Mcdaniels' scrubs didn't do sh*t!

All year long he stuck with an overrated RB that as the season went on, his numbers got worse. Yeah, I'd give you his 4td's he's scored by virtue of someone else taking the ball to the goal line in the last 8 games.
947 yards for the season, and 3.8 ypg, and ZERO 100-yard games

Then we all saw how a 3rd round pick from KC came in and shredded our defense.

We have a coach that thought system will trump talent.
He learned how wrong he was, didn't he?

This team did good enough to go 6-0 on the strength of a system both defensively and offensevely. At the end of the day, you still got no talent to speak of, because you blew it in the draft.

Yeah, I get that funny feeling that Clady playing here next year is not a sure thing. Don't know why...

So he fixed the red zone scoring? How about the third down percentage? I focus on these things becasuse those are the things McDaniels pointed out when he was hired as things he was going to fix. How did that work out poops?

Shanahan didn't know anything about winning.

The true pain is going to come in the form or watching Shanahan walk into DC or Chicago and get back to the playoffs immediately

so here's our coach:

Zero offensive game plan deviation the entire season, no in game adjustments at all.

An ego that causes him to constantly pick fights with, blame, or outright cut players that aren't affiliated with him.

An insistence on being the GM that gave us a giant heap of trash of a draft class, and one that we largely traded up to obtain.

A 2-8 finish, including home losses to the Raiders and Chiefs.

An abandonment of the most successful run blocking scheme in the history of the NFL for something that immediately turned our rushing attack into a far below average one.

Consistently conservative and predictable play calling, that, when it failed time and time again, was consistently blamed on the players (either directly, or with the ubiqutous "we didn't execute the [perfect] game plan the way we wanted to."

Free agent moves that 100% mirrored the later day Shanahan approach, including an emphasis on the secondary and on older, cheaper replacement parts--the very same approach that was universally cited as one of the primary reasons for Shanahan's departure.

An offense--his specialty--that was down in every single relevant statistical category over the one he inherited.

Pluses include an improved defense that largely seemed to be the result of a defensive coordinator that McDaniels may or may not have hired, and that nevertheless imploded down the stretch. Also a nice fist pump.

WE CAN BUILD ON THIS!!!!!

COMPETING EVERY DAY (except most sundays)!!!!

I so sick of going into the off-season having people to toss away as the scape goat on why we had such a let down. We have cut and fired so many people the change over is just becoming predictable. Most of us think we will have yet another OC this off-season then there will be Marshall. It has the makings for yet another heart warming, bring fans together off-season.

Maybe the D and ST were better until the 2-8 run.

Who's giddy? I am pissed.

2 - 4 game losing streaks in one season. Someone needs to be accountable.

Once they fix the lines who are the Playmakers going to be?

KFC now has a 3 headed monster, Charles, Cassell, Chambers/Bowe we got kNOgain and Gaffney and "player to be named later" at QB.

We're all sick of this. This is what we've gone through for a decade, aside from one season.

It's still way to soon to make definitive judgments about this staff.

The Seahawks are laughing right now.

Anyhow... I'm glad to be done with the Broncos and the time it consumes until FA starts nearing.

You must be pissed because now after one game Cassell and Chambers/Bowe became part of a "three headed monster" Charles is a gamer for sure...Bowe catches as well as Graham does.
