Default Sal Palintonio's Role at E!SPN?

It seems he somehow gets away with more or less exclusively covering the Eagles. It seems like from time to time if something happens in the surrounding area he'll go there to report but this is typically during the week. When it comes to game days, however, he almost seems to exclusively cover the Eagles. At least this is the impression I have. Is this correct? If so, why would E!SPN allow one reporter to have such a sweet gig where they can exclusively cover "their" team. Do any other of their reporters get to do this? I know Ed Werder has a history in Dallas and reports on them...but I dont think he's exclusively assigned to Dallas like Sal 'tonio is to Philly. It also seems like Rachel Nichols and Clayton travel a lot covering other teams.

Why would E!SPN sign off on this? I know Philly is a big market. I think its the 5th biggest market. But its also not like they have the largest fanbase. Its not like the Steelers or Cowboys get their own exclusive reporter. Does anyone know anything about this? Thoughts?

That's actually incorrect.

Sal covers the northeast corridor. He does a lot with the Meadowlands, but also covers Philly and DC. During baseball season he covers the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, etc.

Usually, whoever is winning (having the best year) gets their best guy (or gal). This year it's Philly.

On game days is he ever not at the venue where the Eagles are playing? It seems like he's always with the Eagles.

Yes, as I explained above, he is typically with an east coast team having a home game that is currently winning or close to winning their division.

Yeah, what you explained above could have been what I mentioned above about venturing out during the week.

And you're still wrong.

Also: Clayton is mostly in Seattle, reporting on all the teams in the league, because he lives in Seattle. If you want to talk about a guy with a sweet gig, Clayton's got it.

Ed Werder has a history with the Cowboys, but he also has a history with the Broncos. Got his start at the Boulder Daily Camera and covered the Broncos.

Nichols travels a lot, as does that fatty Shelley Smith. They're both all over the place. Werder tends to cover the midwest, SalPal takes the Northeast.

When I think of Sal, I think of Eagles. Same with Ed and the Cowboys. They are top dogs in those areas and get the juice that others probably dont get therefore ESPN want them on those teams.

How is "it seems like" wrong? The fact that I was asking should have been the frist clue that I wasnt taking a position. Whatever. Eithe way, Im not a big fan of Sal 'tonio. He kind of represents the east coast fatheadedness in their coverage.

If you said "it seems like the grass is purple," you'd be wrong.

You were wrong about what you saw or thought you saw. No big deal.

Real men are able to admit when they were wrong.

Awesome. A lot is going on in this game and Sal can only talk about Dawkins because he's an ex-Eagle.

I agree with this. Seeing that the Eagles have been good just about every year that McNabb and Reid have been there, they're going to get more coverage.

No, saying the gress seems like its purple would only be wrong if it didnt seem like its purple.

Not really. It was modified with such words as "it seems like" and "the impression I have..." Where is the definitive stance in that?

Im guessing this is carryover from the other thread in which you havent answered my question still. Instead, you bail on that for some reason and start **** over here. And the lovely thing is, is that youre wrong in both threads.

In the other threads you have such things as "I dont remember" and "a shot like that" flying in your face. Here its the same thing with "it seems like" and "Its my impression" out of which you assert to attribute a firm stance just for the sake of argument. Also some of the words you used in the other thread are too big for you considering you use words like they have no meaning.

Your impression is incorrect. Does that soothe your fragile ego?

I think this board would be a much better place if more people would learn the phrase, "ok, cool. I didn't know. Thanks for the insight."

Instead we have 226 post threads of 7th round draft picks
