A win against philly, a jets loss to indy, pit losing to balt, jags losing to NE, & miami losing to houston. A lot needs to happen but none of these games are gimmies for the teams we need to lose. 1st & foremost we need to win.

We beat philly, jets lose, pitt loses, NE wins, but Miami wins so no clinch.

If we actually CLINCHED this week with all of those things happening... it would be amazing to get our beat up players a week of rest before an the playoffs.
I'd go so far as to say that we'd do minimal game planning for KC and spend a great amount of time focused on our WC match up if it's a guaranteed known after this coming week. |

I would rather we just win two and earn our way into the playoffs that way. I would also rather we have to win next week. This team needs to learn to win in December and to be ready to play every week. Going into the playoffs that way gives us a chance to actually do something once we get there.

what I want to know is what happens if Miami and Denver finish tied at 9 - 7?
Man there are still a lot of scenarios, especially with teams choking every week. But if things go as planned: Houston, Tennessee, NY Jets, and Jacksonville should be eliminated this week if the favorites win. So we need to be worried about Miami and Pittsburgh. If Miami runs the table, the more likely of the two IMO, then that means Pittsburgh is out as well. In a perfect world, Baltimore beats Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh beats Miami, so all we have to do is beat KC. |

Absolutely root for:
Indy over the Jets Houston over the Fins Pats over the Jags If that happens, Denver will still control their own destiny even if they lose this week, and it won't matter what happens in the Balt-Pitt game. If Baltimore wins, Pitt is 7-8 and Denver and Houston are the only 8-7 teams. Houston can't have a better conference record if both go 9-7. If Pitt wins, then Denver, Pitt, Balt, and Houston all have 8-7 records. If all go 9-7, they do a divisional tiebreaker first, eliminating one of Balt or Pitt (not sure who wins that tiebreaker). The tiebreaker for the remaining 3 teams is conference record. If it's Den, Balt and Hou, Den and Balt get in based on a 7-5 conference record and Houston is eliminated with a 6-6 record. If it's Den, Pitt, and Houston, Denver gets in at 7-5 and they have to go to the next tiebreaker since both Pitt and Houston will have a 6-6 conference record. Are you sure? So if the NY Jets lose and we win next week... we are in? Considering we lost to both Pittsburgh and Baltimore, that seems pretty unlikely to me.
