Then city starting fining him for things to punish him for not selling. So he built that thing took out the concrete company, city hall, the mayors house, the police dept and the fire dept. Caused millions in damage. Crushed several cop cars, everything. The tried blowing him up nothing could stop it. After he killed himself the found the dozer had sheets of 1 inch steel with concrete in between. Also once he lowered the armor there was no getting out. The thing had no hatch. He used a crane, lowered it onto the dozer, used cameras to see where he was going. Even had air compressor hooked up to blow clear his camera lenses. |

They think he planned and built for 1.5 yrs. Based on researching purchases he had made etc etc.
The experts said it was as tough as a tank. It moved slow but was totally unstoppable. The think in the end it overheated, radiator blew up, so then he shot himself. They loaded up a car with explosives and detonated it as he crushed it, still didn't stop the dozer. I think a lot of us can relate to how angry he was at city, being pushed out by bigger fishes etc. Not saying town got what it deserved, but maybe it is a lesson to be learned. |

Na **** that town got what they deserved. I guess he had a lot of friends in the town. Everyone said he purposefully avoided hurting anyone. He shot at police but never hit them. They think it was all just to get them to run away so he could crush there building lol.

Just get something like this. Won't cost near as much and you can still do some side jobs to make some money.

didnt realize there was a page two in this thread! cutthemdown pretty much has it right.
He also did it on a day with no school, and the only thing he tried shooting with the mounted 50 cal was the propane plant. The reason he HAD the dozer was to create a new road after the town cut off the access... The buildings he hit were owned/worked by members of the city council that had ****ed his life up. (he also hit the electric company, maple street builders, the newspaper, and had MORE on the list but didn't get the chance) The library actually used to be connected to the public records office, and it was crazy because he literally tore off half of the building...leaving the books and library side in tact haha. He got stuck when he fell partway into the foundation of Gambles (the hardware store), and that's when the radiator overheated. It was seriously the craziest **** ever. On the radio, you could just hear thousands of gunshots in the background as all these cops who'd never get to fire a gun were just going buck wild. When it was all said and done, it was unreal what the town looked like. That thing was so heavy, the track marks were all over the streets/sidewalks etc. The buildings he hit looked like something out of a michael bay movie. In the end, his plan backfired on him, because the town was essentially renovated through the insurance claims...so he didn't really get revenge. Just branded as crazy. And the SAD part is, marv was a normal guy (from my perspective). Played foosball against him at the bar, he was just a normal local. Drank beer and shot the ****. When we got stuck in grand lake (they shut down the highways when it was happening) we all just went to the bar, drank beer, and watched the news. Everybody knew who it was before the news did. We couldn't believe he'd actually DONE IT, but he'd made threats over the years, it just seemed like idle threats. |

That loader looks pretty rough for 48k. http://www.crazedlist.org/index.cgi?...&submit=Search of dozers. Thousands of wheel loaders right here. Click to page 9. That is what you can get for 50k or less. http://www.machinerytrader.com/list/...lse&HDROR=desc Last edited by Meck77; 12-11-2009 at 01:45 AM.. |

I buy and sell this stuff for a living-48K is a ripoff for a Machine that doesn't have adequate Dealer support here-if you're going to buy a Wheel Loader get a Cat, Case or Volvo-if you want a Dozer, get a Cat, Deere or Komatsu (these are two of the only things that Cat makes better than anyone else)-

any links to this story? Screwing over the city this way is the ultimate revenge. There will probably be more as our SUperior Court gave cities the right to steal our land, property, etc. to make other businesses move in. I would love to see pics. Mayor and all should have been thrown out on their butt for ruining this guys life before the craziness went down.

i think some of the posters changed the original post pretty good. I thought it was a joke at first. In the Off season, it would have worked better. Meck went out of his way to help the guy, then got sheated on. Good effort Meck. If I am in the market for a dozer, I will remember this thread and put your hard work to the test.
Saw the video. I guess he pretty much wanted to ruin his enemies and he exceded. Nice video if you google grandy bulldozer. Last edited by broncocalijohn; 12-11-2009 at 12:05 PM.. |
