Default 11 years of waiting almost at an end...

Hey Guys,

I haven’t been on in a long time but I’m still as hard core as ever I’ve just been busy making renovations to the house we moved into in August. Work has kept me from getting on many chat boards this season but I’m just as happily amazed with the Broncos as I’m sure you guys are. I still try to write a blog every week on myspace about the Broncos games but I’m sure as always you guys cover anything and everything just as well or better than me.

The good news is, finally, after waiting for 11 years I’ll get to see a Broncos game in Denver.

The last game I saw in Denver was in 98 when they destroyed the Eagles. The last Broncos regular season game I saw was in San Francisco in 2002 when Griese played one of his better games and the Broncos beat the 49ers 24-14. The very last game I saw the Broncos play was the preseason Hall of Fame Game in Canton when Elway was inducted into the HOF.

I’ve never been to Invesco Field so it’ll be awesome to see a game there. I’ll be going to the Raiders Game on Dec. 20th. This will be the 7th Raiders game I’ve been to in Denver but all of them were at the old Mile High Stadium. I bought the tickets this summer but didn’t know until this week if I was going to be able to go or not because of work.

I hope to get to meet some of you Maners at the Game. I’m sure you guys have tailgate parties at every game and I was wondering if I could get an invite and some info on when and where you actually have your party.

I had no idea when I bought the tickets that the Raiders game would mean something to the Broncos this late in the season. The way it looks now a win against them and the Chiefs and the Broncos are probably in the playoffs. If they lose to Indy maybe they can still beat Philly and they’ll get a wild card game at home huh?

Anyway I hope you’ll let me know what time you start your party and where it is so I can meet some of you.

Here’s my web links and my email address, I hope to hear from you.

GO BRONCOS!

Have a great time. Sounds like you bring good luck to Bronco games so you have that going for you.

Lucky Bastard. The only time I ever saw the Broncos was in Oakland...Sketchy times, my friends. At least Kerry Collins made it worth my while.

Enjoy the game!

I'm so jacked. Today I went and bought some long underwear, winter socks and some new boots. I'm ready for Bear and a Raiders ass whoopin'. I was reading the rules about what you can and can not take into the stadium. Sounds like they frown on taking a bottle of anti-freeze into the game. I was wondering if anyone has taking some in and been caught with it, then booted out?

A small bottle of Buttershots and a thermos of coffee at a cold game is a must for me but I don't want any trouble. I know 9/11 changed everything but damn. What do you guys know about it?

Also what do beers cost and where's the best eats in the stadium?

One other thing where's the best place in Denver to buy Broncos gear these days? The place where they have it all, which store?

A little birdy told me its real easy to sneak 2-4 beers and a flask into the stadium. That birdy has actually had security pat down right on the hidden beers and say nothing. Especially on the cold days when everyone is bundled up. Beers inside will run about $6.50, so get your fill before hand.

The store with the best selection, in my experience, is the one in the stadium itself. Its open everyday, so if you get into town early you could swing by there. Prices are pretty high tho, but if you want something unique its the place to go. Hell, they even had the brown and yellow striped socks.

Have fun!!!

I have a flask, so I'll give it a try. I just don't want to get the heave ho. I've spent a ton of money for airfare and a hotel and waited to many years for this game, it'd tick me off if some security guard went on a power trip. I have my retired Police Officer ID so maybe that'll save me.

My seats are on the 50 yard line on the upper east side in section 534. They're nose bleeders for sure I just hope the game isn't like watching ants play from that vantage point. It matters little really I'm just thrilled to be able to go.

What about the tailgate party? Surely you old timers have one rignt? I know in the past I ruffled some feathers in here but once the game starts on Sunday I'm a rock solid blood brother. I hope I can meet some of you if you'll have me.

I spent some time reading some of the Hillis thread last night. The passion that burns in this chat room is as hot as ever. As per usual I'm with Taco on this Hillis issue he has been under used. He should be in there at FB at the very least, he'd be a great blocker for Moreno. McD needs to get him the ball. All egos aside, if he had one game where he had a chance to get a dozen carries and a few catches I'd bet the farm he produce big time.

Anyway it's great to see the debate rage on in here.

Dude, you better get those tickets off of the site or someone can scan it and use them for themselves! Then you can twitter us from the gates explaining that the 11 year wait will now be on year 12 and counting. NEVER, EVER put tickets with barcodes on any site. This is a Raiders game. Faider fan would use that in a heart beat. That is what they do. Steal is their game.

Damn, hadn't thought of that thanks for the tip. I know one thing I won't be denied the opportunity to get into this game. Surely they would take me in and I could confront whoever forged my tickets wouldn't they? Has this really happened before?

I would have a meltdown of biblical proportion if I couldnít get in.

Maybe you should re-think your flask packing conspiracy. I mean, it's a solid plan and all... swiss watch if I understand it correctly. It's just that sometimes people don't care if you have a retired police card.

Maybe I'll talk my Buddy from Laramie to carry it in. Aaah, maybe not, I guess the flask will have to stay at home. Horsefeathers!!

I would check out the tailgate forum for tailgate info. OM weekend was like week 2 or something. Unless Meck has the bus out don't hold your breath for a TG from here.

I hooked up with Archie one year and went to his TG, good people.

If you don't hook up get there early and just wander around with your booze and ask if you can join in on one of the larger TG's. I have done that also. You meet a lot of good people that way.

I still check out the SportsFan on Federal? just out side the stadium before I go into the Stadium shop. Stadium shop has nicer stuff but it is expensive, Sports fan is Ok though.

Don't worry about the view they built Invesco so all seats are good.

Thanks for the info; I plan on being there early so hopefully I'll get to meet up with some of you. I'd give anything to meet Taco, Kaylore, Mock, ever good ol' Popps. Have you fully recovered from that nasty illness Mock?

Sportsfan on Federal, got it, I'll check it out.

My main search will be for hats, I have a 7 3/4 pumpkin head. I've looked on every website there is to try to fine a fitted cap or stretch to fit hat that’ll work for me and every time it shows up it’s to damn small.

Just for fun I dug these up...

First game I ever saw in Denver was a Monday Night Chiefs game from the south stands in 1990. Elwayís arm and a late FG in the 4th Q by the usually unreliable Treadwell sealed the deal.

Hereís the box score from the Kansas City Chiefs Game on Sept. 17 1990. How many where there?

http://www.pro-football-reference.co...9009170den.htm

First Raiders game saw in Denver was in 1990. How many remember the long 62 yard run Bo Jackson had for a TD? He killed us that day. God Iím glad he had a short career.

http://www.pro-football-reference.co...9012020den.htm

The best Raiders game I saw was in 97, what a game, remember? They destroyed the Jeff George led Raiders. The D gave up just one FG so the shutout was lost but made what a thing of beauty. Davis was killer in that game.

http://www.pro-football-reference.co...9711240den.htm

Iím hoping for complete and total annihilation on the 20th. I want my Raider pound of flesh; it may be a while before Iím back in Bronco Nation.

Believe it or not I like the unis, just not the socks. I'm from Wyoming so Brown and Gold is one of my war colors. Besides they've played well in those colors this year. If they won every game they played in them who cares, I say wear them forever.

I was there also, it was the one where TD finally retired and they played in Champaign right?

Urlicker blitzed Griese the 1st play but duh bears had Henry Buriss(?) in for mop up and the dude could not complete a pass at all. I think he went back to the CFL.

The Beerbelly is a beer dispenser that fits stealthily and comfortably around your waist, under your shirt, with a feeder tube and bite valve that delivers beer to the user.

I was going to get a Tripucka #18 made in a replica for the hell of it, but never had the extra scratch to blow on it......now, it appears, it's too late.

Oh Well.
