Default Use of timeouts

This might have been mentioned in the game thread, but I've been a little peeved at the Broncos lack of timeout usage when they clearly are disoriented. During the chiefs 20 play drive, the chiefs often went to a no huddle on third down only to have the entire bronco defense bickering at eachother. When the ball was snapped, they were never set, and gave up like 4 first downs. ONE time out to gather themselves here could have ended that entire drive long before.

Also, during their fake punt, again, the ST ran around like chickens with their heads cut off and got incredibly lucky that Richard Quinn tipped that pass because their receiver was wide open. They could have called a TO and avoided that mess.

Any thoughts?

Maybe on defense, especially in the first half.

But I'll take my chances on 4th and 8, at their 28, against a gimmick play every single time. A time out there and they don't even run that stupid ass play.

I would propose we use the flop to counter the no-huddle. Rotate between the front seven up to the two minute warning. It worked great against the Jets last year.

Exactly, which is why I think they should have taken a time out, because that stupid play was wide open. Not to mention, the last time someone tried a "gimmick" st play against us, it went for a TD and turned the tide of that game. Why even take the risk?

We'll find out next week how we'll do against the no huddle.

Next week will be a real test of where we are in this aspect of the game. At least this time, I think our defense is better conditioning-wise. We have a chance to stay competitive in the fourth quarter.

Interesting that we are going to face Coyer's defense in Indy. Is it fate?
