QUICKLY:

* The Broncos, who are looking to snap a four-game losing streak, will host their first Thanksgiving game since 1963 and are set to play on the holiday for the 11th time in club history. Denver will play on Thanksgiving for the third time in the last five years.
* Denver is set to play on a Thursday for the fifth consecutive year and joins only Dallas and Detroit with that distinction. The Broncos’ five scheduled Thursday games in the last five years tie for the third most in the NFL.

OFFENSE:

* QB Kyle Orton’s 27-15 (.643) career record as a starter is the seventh best among active passers. His 18-3 (.857) career record at home as a starter is the best in the league since the 1970 NFL merger.
* Second-year WR Eddie Royal’s 122 career receptions tie for the most by a Bronco in his first two pro seasons. He is only the ninth Bronco in club history to post at least 1,000 combined yards in each of his first two pro seasons with Denver—He leads the team with 1,003 combined yards this year.
* RB Knowshon Moreno leads all NFL rookies in rushing yards (600) and yards from scrimmage (677). During the last two weeks, he is eighth in the NFL in rushing yards (177) and second in yards per rush (6.3).

DEFENSE:

* Led by long-time NFL defensive coordinator Mike Nolan, the Broncos are the only team to rank among the league’s top seven clubs defensively in yards per game (7th, 297.8), points per game (7th, 18.3) and sacks (T-4th, 29). Denver also is fourth in the league in yards per play allowed (4.8).
* OLB/DE Elvis Dumervil ranks first in the NFL with 12 sacks and is looking to become the first Bronco in club history to lead the league in sacks. His 12 career multiple-sack games, including five this year, tie for the seventh most in NFL history through a player’s first four seasons.

SPECIAL TEAMS:

* Since signing veteran P Mitch Berger on Oct. 26, the Broncos’ net punting average has shown the fourth-most improvement (+3.3 yds. / 34.5 to 37.8) in the NFL.
* Veteran OLB/DE Mario Haggan and rookie S Darcel McBath are tied for the team lead with nine special-teams tackles. They are two of eight Broncos with at least five special-teams stops this season.

“All Ready”- Darrent Williams

"We started off-my rookie year, we lost three or four games in a row and came back and went on a nice long streak, so hopefully, we can do that. It just takes one (game) either way. If you lose one game, it is tough to get that winning feeling back and (it) just kind of builds and builds and builds the more you go. It just takes one win for us. We're not going to be given the win, by any means. We've got to go out and earn it and take it. Once you get that (winning) feeling, it is a lot easier to keep it on that roll, too." – Kyle Orton

""I was pretty encouraged to talk to some of my teammates, but what's going to encourage me more is if we play better. It's not really what people say, it's what they do." –Champ Bailey

""Obviously, if you go down there four times and score a field goal and turn the ball over two times, that's not going to lead to too many victories. We're going to hit it hard like we do every week. It comes down to what we do when we're in there. We're going to talk about executing and doing the things that we feel like we need to do against the Giants, but when we get down there in the game, we've got to make those plays that are going to determine whether we get seven (points) or three. The other day, obviously, we didn't do a good enough job, but we're going to focus on it just like we do every week." –Coach McDaniels

"(It takes) a lot of effort. You have to have a 'want to' to do it, too. To tackle this dude, it can't be a second thought. You have to have in your head and your heart that you want to tackle him before the game because once the game starts and you see him running downhill, that's not the time you want to make the decision. It's definitely an effort thing, definitely a heart thing because he's a big dude" -Brian Dawkins

Going to my 1st game of the year, my second game ever, my first being the Oakland drubbing at home last year. I am feeling very off about this game. Especially since I don't know where to park, am taking the light rail somehow, and need to find an afternoon bar. I have no idea what I am doing.

Wish this game was on national TV instead of the Cowgirls/Fade.

Florio's take is interesting, if a bit all over the place...

Quote:
The argument most often advanced for the status quo comes from the reality that the Lions and the Cowboys were willing to host Thanksgiving games every year at a time when no one else was interested in accepting what was deemed to be a burden, not a benefit.

The other reality? The league has a captive audience on Thanksgiving afternoon.

When fictional NBC president Russell Dalrymple asked George Costanza why anyone would watch a show about nothing, Costanza's response was immediate: "Because it's on TV."

And that theory applies with extra force when it comes to football games on Thanksgiving. It's part of our routine. Families congregate, the televisions activate, and football games accelerate. (Yeah, it doesn't fit. But I really wanted to end that sentence with another word ending in "-ate.")

It kind of makes sense when you read the whole thing. Kinda.

If we win tonight...I think we can give the Chugs a run for their money. I don't think they're all that good. Even as pathetic as we were last week...we had out chances. The Colts will be a tough match-up...but outside of that....everything is doable. We need to play the whole game though...every play. That's what we stopped doing and it didn't take long for the wheels to fall off.Broncos 27-24
