Looks like toast....rumors of the Falcons trying out new kickers. Looks like it was a good decision to let him go....

No surprise really, he's a thousand years old and was waning his final years in Denver. If it wasn't for the nostalgia and sentiment a lot of fans felt for the guy, most would've been ok with the decision to let him walk at the time. Especially given the contract he was asking for.

I agree....much like the people rioting for Kerney, after that first year, he has stunk too.

He had a great run. One of the most important pieces of the championship teams. Hope he gets a look from the HOF, he deserves it as much as Vinitieri does

is it an issue of accuracy with jason or does he just not have enough leg anymore?

he didn't have the leg the last year here....

It appears he has lost his accuracy now, something that was the only reason he had a job in the NFL.
He lost his leg a few years back when he struggled to hit a 50 yard field goal.

He's obviously not enshrined, but he's in the HOF several times. He's record tying kick and I believe he scored the 10,000th point on MNF(which was also the kick scoring his 1000th point and they wouldn't let him keep the ball.

I read an article on Broncotalk earlier today that said he was only making 65% of his field goals this year. He made 93% last year. I think the Falcons are only looking at kickers for kicks of over 40 yards or something.

when you cant trust your kicker to do anything beyond 40 yards, it really is time to move on. there is a LOT of kickers that are unemployed that can.
