So if we drafted today who do we take? I think Chicago would have around the 10-15 pick range.
For me it's got to be an offensive lineman, specifically a guard. Our interior lineman have been getting manhandled and we see what Orton does under pressure. |

I'm all for upgrading the interior of the OL. That said, we can get an outstanding prospect in the 2nd. Right now I'd take one of two Bama players in the first - Rolando McClain at ILB or Terrence Cody at NT.

Guards aren't top half of the 1st round positions.
They still need help in the Front 7. |

Bring on Mt. Cody. My only worry is his conditioning. But you can't have an effective 3-4 defense without a dominant NT. You end up playing more of a 5-2 like we have, despite how good Fields has been.
If Eric Berry is still around in the middle of the 1st (he won't be), get him. That guy is a gamechanger, almost like Polamalu was in college. McClain would be an awesome pick. If the Bears pick low in the first round, I think we should seriously look at Norwood from South Carolina. That guy is a beast. Elite interior Olineman can be found in the 2nd and 3rd, which is a good thing to have. |

We have a lot more holes than our record indicates. QB, HB, WR, interior OL, DL, LB and CB are all positions we need help at.
Right now the problem with this team is at QB. I hate to say it like that but it's true. This is the same team that was great pass blocking for Jay Cutler. Orton has no pocket awareness and instead of making a defender miss in the pocket when they break through, he runs right into them. I WOULD LOVE to upgrade the lines this draft. There is a lot of front 7 depth on defense and solid players on the OL. Unfortunately I think we have to find a QB first and foremost. Champ showed his age a little bit last night which is understandable, so CB is a spot where we need to start developing talent. He's in his 11th year. Goodman isn't young either and now we cut JMFW for an even older Ty Law. This will become an issue soon. Champ's contract is also up in 2 seasons. We need some playmakers opposite of Dumervil. |

Draft Foneco!
You're only taking a tackle in the top half of the first round, late first through the second round is where we can hopefully take a road grater guard. We still have plenty of needs on defense, enjoy the BPA! |

Our strategy is clear. Travel back in time and draft Ed Reed, Vernon Davis, and Bj Raji.

I guess I agree that drafting a G or C in the middle of the first is too high, but I don't know what else we could get. Certainly Cody will not be there and I disagree with you about RB and WR being a need. Moreno is a rookie, he will get better and our WRs will be fine. Royal and Marshall are young and I think McKinley will turn out to be a good slot guy. I guess I could see us going LB or CB if a great DL is not available. We certainly need to address our aging secondary and Davis is no spring chicken himself. |

we dont need WR, CB, or LB help in the early rounds, regardless of what some say.
MAYBE qb though unlikely, OL, DL. |

Id like to see them draft either Cody, Spikes, or McClain assuming, we're drafting 10-19.
