Default Last Steelers game, Doom had 2 sacks; Over/Under tonight?

http://espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=271021007

O/U 2

Under: I'm saying one tonight, maybe a forced fumble, and some tackles for loss on running back...

Biggest difference against Baltimore last week vs. the season is that we did not collect mistakes on defense like we have been doing. We have to get off the field on 3rd down, we have to play error free football, and we have to get to the QB. If we do that, Ben's gonna leave some balls in the air that our DB's can make plays on.

Should be a great game tonight.

Baltimore provided a template for containing Dumervil, so I expect more double teams early in the game. That should open up more middle blitzes. The Steelers will have to account for those middle blitzes and Dumervil will be able to run more free in the second half.

That's my prediction, so I'll say that he gets 2 sacks...

I think what Baltimore did well was contain the waves of our defenders we bring in on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down. Our guys got tired and we couldn't play situational football. Nolan's use of that strategy was giving us a great advantage. Baltimore found a way to neutralize it.

It will be interesting if we're better coached for it this time around and if our offense can continue to sit on it's hands, not make mistakes but also not make plays and we can continue winning. We will see tonight. Pittsburgh will test this teams metal. This should have a playoff atmosphere to it. Both teams need this game.

Baltimore's line is light years better than Pittsburgh's, that is their Achilles heel at the moment IMO

I am taking the over

pitts tackles cant block doom. Colon will give up 2 to him alone. I say 3 total sacks and a ff recovered for a td!

We got pretty good pressure on Flacco, but Joe evaded a few sacks all on his own. Blueprint my ass.

Hopefully, they used Jarvis Moss as the scout team QB this week to simulate Big Ben's elusiveness. Jarvis is all world Scout Team. It just makes sense.

On a serious note, I hate that Blueprint BS. I could have the blueprints to a skyscraper, doesn't mean I could build the MFer.

I say under. Doom is going to be double teamed all night. Pitts line is not as good as the ratbirds but Ben is one strong QB. It doesn't really matter though... if we can just pressure him into in-com-plete with a couple INTs.

OK. So if they double on Doom -- some one else must step up.

Dawkins? Our Interior LBs? Ayers?

i don't buy that. teams always supposedly create a template on how to contain a guy. the only problem with that is, most teams are not built the same and don't have the same parts necessary to do what another team did. also, it has been 4 years now, of teams supposedly shutting him down one week only for him to re-emerge another week. if after 4 years teams haven't found a way to completely neautralize him, than it can be guaranteed that Baltimore did not set a template that will hold him down. he will come back tonight or in the upcoming weeks with a big game.

Pittsburgh's DL right now, is nowhere near as talented or strong as Baltimore's line, meaning we aren't going to see a Defense that just owns our OL and makes it hell for Orton all day long.

Same with the OL, Baltimore has a good set of bookend Tackles that can hold their own against good pass rushers, there aren't many teams in the league that can say that.

also, with Doom. if he does get to the QB tonight it is going to be more than once. this season he doesn't just get to the QB once a game, he is either collecting sacks in bunches or not at all.

i agree. i really don't care if we get any sacks tonight. i would much rather there be a lot of QB pressures, get some hits on Ben, make him a little rattled and hurried to get rid of the ball quicker so that he makes mistakes that our D can pounce on.

IMO Ben is better out of the pocket. If we can keep him inside, his patience can bring about sacks. contain the outside and be careful not to overrun the edge when rushing him. Doom must stay controlled. I think we'll see many delayed blitz scheme up the middle.
