Default Simms on scout team. Brandstater not.

Noticed these pictures:

Simms is in the "penny" jersey and Brandstater isn't. This probably just means that Simms has the arm to "play" Flacco on the scout team, but I wonder if Brandstater is pushing Simms at all.

At this point, probably not. Hopefully next season's TC can have a night fight for who provides the depth.

Why not?

Actually, most of my Simms-love has been superceded by massive respect for Kyle. Manlove for Simms makes no sense now, so I;m revertingto how I felt when Jay was here ... that Simms is a good long-term backup.

Kaylore,

We've talked about this. It's a natural progression. There's no way in hell after seeing Brandstater in the preseason that he's not on a fast-track for the #2 spot. Simms has NFL experience, so it's tough to see him losing the spot this year... but I'd be shocked if Tom B. wasn't #2 by next season.

maybe we can get a draft pick for Simms in the off season, even if its a late rounder I would take it.

Im comfortable with Simms at backup. Nothing worse than being one hard hit or akward landing away from a Patrick Ramsey or Jarious Jackson appearence.

Keep him on the payroll.

I understood that black jerseys were given to non-starters who previously had a great week a of practice. Basically a reward.

This is going to come off as offensive, I know, but this is one of the most retarded speculative threads I've seen around here in a while. We have no idea how the Simms/Brandstater competition is shaping up, or how Brandstater is developing. Two pictures don't indicate much at all about that.

I didn't know that! Well that explains it. Good for Simms then.

I am sure it is Simms running as Flacco on the Scout team, but does not reflect a demotion to 3rd QB. Remember back to the 2003 Patriots, Damon Huard was the backup, but he played scout team in practice. In fact he got a game ball for how he performed as Peyton Manning on the scout team. Bilichick felt that the look that Huard gave them in practice was what helped the defense play so well against Manning.

Unless the pics involve guy on guy "pretend" fellacio in the back of a limo or holding another guy's package while wearing a pink polo, of course.

the way he is playing and the fact that he still hasn't peaked, he could lead this team to a super bowl win. not saying this year we win the super bowl, but with Orton at the QB position we are in good hands.
