Default Breaking: Cable won't be charged...

Quote:
By TERRY COLLINS Associated Press Writer

NAPA, Calif.(AP)—Oakland Raiders coach Tom Cable won’t face charges after being investigated over allegations that he assaulted one of his assistants, ending a two-month saga that was a cloud over the team’s season.

Napa County district attorney Gary Lieberstein said Thursday that the investigation concluded no charges were warranted.

“Our duty is to do the right thing for the right reasons,” Lieberstein said. “Under the facts and circumstances of this case, it would be a miscarriage of justice to pursue criminal charges and we will not ask our citizens to give up their valuable time for jury duty, nor will we allow our criminal justice system to be compromised.”

I hear he sold the pigeon out and copped a plea deal.

The NFL is already monitoring the case to determine if Cable violated the league’s personal conduct policy. According to the policy, a coach or player can be disciplined for “violent or threatening behavior among employees, whether in or outside the workplace.”
Commissioner Roger Goodell said the league wanted to let the criminal process proceed before getting involved. Goodell said criminal charges need not be brought against Cable for the NFL to discipline him if he broke the league’s conduct rules.
I think Cable still gets suspended.

See, isn't that actually a good thing for Cable? I mean, wouldn't you rather be at home watching the red zone channel? I think they should make him coach the Raiders MORE as a punishment.

It's too bad. I wanted the Raiders to be so preoccupied that they couldn't compete for the division crown. Oh wait....

Now how about that!
Always thought he'd get busted
Probably some corruption going on here
Anyways

I have a question...
Seriously, could the NFL still suspend him?

For me, it doesn't matter if he was charged
Or for that matter if he was even arrested
Really, what matters is his conduct, regardless

For example
As a coach, you need to be held accountable

That would be ironic as his team rarely gets to the redzone. I see a civil case coming in the near future anyways. He will pay one way or another. I thought this was coming by criminal case. He just wont have street cred with the prison inmates known as Raider fan.

Hanson never wanted this out. He didn't call the cops, the hospital called the cops. I don't believe a civil suit will be filed. I didn't figure anything would come of this as Cable didn't hit him, he broke it by hitting it on something after Cable came after him while he was sitting on a chair, although the normal person would still get assault. It's amazing how the law is for some, but not others. But I do think Cable will be suspended. His actions in the capacity of a coach were pathetic.

My bet is that Cable sues Hanson, and Hanson counter sues. Cable gets suspended, and then fired.
