We're working out Mitch Berger according to ESPN.
While Kern is something like 10th in punt yard average... His NET is the 30th in the entire NFL out of the 34 punters who punted enough for their stats to count. http://www.nfl.com/players/profile?id=BER067954 Last edited by UberBroncoMan; 10-22-2009 at 12:57 PM.. |

I just can't really remember Kern being awful. After all the years of Rouen, I guess I'm maybe just used to punters that suck. But Kern seems like he's punted okay.
If the Sproles punt return was dropped to average, Kern's net would be 37.3. That's higher than Berger's career average, and higher than all but a few of his season averages. |

Domcasual he is hitting ball too low and too far when he has a chance to drop in inside 10. So many times we move ball to 50, stall, and then he comes in and blasts then thing into the endzone like an idiot. It's like he has no control over how hard or low, or high etc he kicks ball.
He's got a decent leg but he is lacking in the art of kicking. |

This suprises me. I thought Kern has done a good job? That kick return wasn't his fault. But A punter is a punter, I really don't care as long as he can boot the crap out of it.

What is funny, is that I thought Colquitt out punted him in the preseason.

You guys sure this isn't something they are looking at because it is a bye week and to keep track of later if Kern gets worse down the stretch?
They worked out FG kickers in week 1 or 2 and didn't make any moves after that. |

I don't think we need to get rid of Kern, or Prater for that matter. But I do wonder why the hell Prater's kickoffs have been so weak?
Like many others, I too think we should bring Colquitt back to have a shot. I can tell you from first hand experience that he didn't look good during practices, but when he punted on the field, everything was right!!! |

Unbelievable! Can't believe it Kern aint that good! Krazy to me that he's 30th! Even in mile high? Really, that needs to improve Never thought he was that bad Hell, let's bring Mitch onboard Every team could use a good punter 'Spose he works out? Anyways Fabulous discussion guys Always appreciate the spot-on analysis Good day to you all! |

Very good chance it is just for that. Could be that they are so detail orientated they want to have a plan B in case anything should happen.
