Default Gaints still have #1 ranked defense (lol)

They just got torched by the Saints for 48 points and gave up almost 500 yards of offense yet they are still ranked higher then the Broncos, who are giving up 9 less points per game.

Go figure.

They've only played ONE team worth a ****, they'll fall.

Seriously, their schedule was so easy, made ours look like a playoff run

Arizona could add to that total next this coming week.

If those are the same rankings that are based solely on yardage given up they are the biggest pile of **** since our 08 defense. In truth they're worthless. The only stats that ever matter on defense are points conceded, keeping a team in games and winning games.

Where are you finding these 'rankings'? What are you referring to?

We'll have the chance to compare "rankings" on Thanksgiving night.

I'm actually more excited to see what our D-line can do to Eli if we play like last night.

NY will be around come playoff time, and they still have a tough defense. The Saints are going to make a lot of defenses look bad.

The trick is whether or not a team can make them play a different game. NO sure looks like a team that could land home-field for the playoffs. So, theoretically they could avoid weather-games. They're going to be tough to take down.

Any ranking system or statistical analysis that has this Denver Defense anywhere other than #1 in the league is seriously flawed.

Only by 4.8 ypg

Oakland, KC, Tampa, and Washington really padded their numbers.

They've been doing it longer so they deserve more benefit of the doubt, but this team keeps playing the way they have been playing and we'll blow the Giants D out of the water on the way to NFL HISTORY

They average almost 40 yards less per game and are now only at 10 or so.

ranking defensive teams by yardage allowed has always been a bull**** stat.

would be nice to come up with something similiar to qb rating where things like points allowed, yards allowed, turnovers forced, defensive td's scored, etc are worked out into some sort of ranking. would also need to disallow for trash yards and scores after the game is in hand. i guess dvoa is similiar to that.
