There should be hell to pay, if it is. They were diverting planes at DIA this afternoon over it.

The Larimer County spokeswoman just said that there was a box attached to the the bottom of the balloon when it took off that wasn't there when it landed.

Well, don't know, but you know my favorite book at that age was Harold and the Purple Crayon where the kid writes all over the place, creates new worlds with his purple crayon, so you might want to keep her from such inciteful reading material (I blame Harold for my early tagging episodes).

If it was a publicity stunt you could expect to see imprisonment occurring.

As I stated earlier:"This is what bothers me. Nothing was attached in the live stream clips

According to the Larimer County Sheriff's Department, the 6-year-old boy's parents had been building an experimental aircraft which had a large helium balloon attached to it at their home on Fossil Ridge Road in Fort Collins"

There was nothing attached when they started filming the balloon.

See this MAKES SENSE. I couldn't see how the hell the kid could get into the balloon that was shown.

It also means the kid is likely dead.

Lets be realistic here.

If the kid was hiding in the house he would have been found by now.

Also why would the kid run into territory he doesn't know about. Logic points that IF he wasn't in the house he'd be somewhere that was "safe" to him. Naturally if his parents don't know about where this is, his own brothers would know where it was.

With the reports that there is something attached to the balloon (which is no longer there) it actually makes sense.

The balloon itself wasn't made to carry a human and why would it have the ability to seal inside (ie. a handle to close a hatch from within) - it clearly looked sealed when it flew.

I'd wager the kid is dead.

I've also seen several science experts say that there is no way that this could have lifted off with an extra 60 pounds of weight. So it isn't clear.

Just heard on the news that they have a UH-60 from the Coast Guard searching the Weld County area. This isn't a hoax or publicity stunt and I'm afraid it's not going to end well. While it would piss me off if it were a publicity stunt, I hope that is exactly what it is.

except a 6 year old doesn't exactly weigh 60lbs and looking at pictures I would say he is on the smaller size.

Really? Coast Guard? Not being a d!ck or anything, just seems weird to me. National Guard more like.

Best case scenario is that whatever attached the craft to the balloon broke before it reach altitude and bumps and bruises are it.

I know at least one five year old that weighs over 60 pounds. Granted, he's obviously big for his age, but 50 or so pounds for a 6 year old isn't that crazy.
