Default Buckhalter returns to practice

Broncos RB Buckhalter returns to practice

FRANK SCHWAB
THE GAZETTE

ENGLEWOOD – Running back Correll Buckhalter took a step toward returning for a huge AFC West showdown against San Diego on Monday.

Buckhalter, who missed Sunday’s game against New England with an ankle injury, practiced with the team Wednesday. He was taking normal repetitions during the period of practice that is open to the media. Buckhalter started Denver’s first four games at tailback and had 267 yards, averaging 7.2 yards per carry.

I like it, the Chargers looked horrible against the run. Buck holds onto the ball.

We should be hiring the guy who helped Tiki Barber learn to hold onto the ball.
He would do wonders for Moreno.

This would be huge for us.

The fresher we keep Moreno and Buckhalter, the more effective they are. With the Chargers sucking against the run, we'll want to run a lot. Look for Knowshon to get maybe 15-20 carries and Buckhalter to get 10-15, depending on how the game plays out.

It's weird too, because the dude didn't fumble once in college. Not once. And that's 2 solid years in the SEC. Nerves maybe? Probably just a matter of getting used to the hits and the strips at this level.

Probably because he was shattering all the defenders' ankles before they had a chance to hit him on every run.

Bucky will break off 150 yards on the crappy Sandy Eggo defense.

Hillis must get out of McD dog house, he can run the load as much as Buck and Jordan.

Hillis has to stop f-ing up to get out of the doghouse. He has a serious case of the yips.

I would really like to see Hillis catching some passes out of the backfield and punishing some tacklers. Maybe once Larsen heals up?

I wonder if he isn't getting along with Turner and or McDaniels.

The odd thing was I didn't remember even seeing a set where they had a FB. I am going to go through the DVR and see if Hillis made an appearance.

Maybe more like when Hillis stops ****ing up.

I doubt he's their favorite person at this point, after all he's screwed up nearly every opportunity they've given him to make plays.

He was in the game just before we used our first timeout. Of course, we used that timeout because he didn't know where to lineup.

The Hillis love on here baffles me. I love his skillset, but so far the guy obviously isn't getting it or is unwilling to get it. He's got to fit within the system to see playing time and the key to the system is "don't make mistakes and do your job", right now he can't.

It's because of what he did last year. He was great. There is definitely some kind of mental problem going on with him right now. The potential is there with this kid. Hopefully the coaching staff can get it out of him.
