Default Patriots Did Not Score in the Second Half

While Phil Simms drooled over the Pats, the TV audience may not have fully understood what was happening out there on the field. The Broncos defense absoutely shut down Brady and the Pats in the second half. Not one point.

Conversely, the Broncos offense dominated time of posession and executed important third down conversions down the stretch on long, sustained scoring drive.

The Broncos are good folks, and getting better as the season goes on.

What I do enjoy is that our offense seems to improve as games go on.

By the 4th quarter in all 3 of our home games we've been moving the ball pretty much at will. We're wearing teams down, and it's paying dividends in the 4th quarter.

Aside from the one Cincy drive for a TD, we've murdered teams in the 4th quarter.

Something to be proud of and build on, but five games is only five games, no matter how smoothly you executed.

Yes, it has already been mentioned that we've given up only 7 points all year in the second half......the TD to Cincy in week 1......that probably wouldn't have happened either, had Nolan not decided to prevent in that final drive.

OTOH, there's a little room to gloat:

Denver 75 O plays. NE 61.

Denver 27 first downs. NE 18

Denver 424 total yards. NE 305

Denver TOP 37 minutes. NE 23 minutes.

Our Defense on 3rd down is something special... we stopped the Patriots 3 times! on 1 drive! (because of stupid punt penalties)
