Default Was the D line told to not Hit Brady

First of all what a damn win, but I was sititng here thinking about our lack of a pass rush, does anyone think our DLine was told to slow down and not hit Brady because of last weeks roughing the passer? I think it could have had a little bit of an impact on how rushed him. It did not seem like they had their ears pinned back and bull rushed, just a thought.

no lol. What is was is Broncos felt they could cover the pats wr. Goodman, Bailey, JMFW, Smith all played well. The safetys and linebackers looked good in the zones. I think it was more let's not give Brady wide open WR, make him thread it in there.

Luckily Brady did miss a few he had plenty of time to throw on.

No, if anything this was the one week where we likely could have gotten away with a little more of that after the media attention on chicken**** calls favoring Brady.

I think the reason the pass rush was pretty absent today is because of good coaching and a good game plan. There is a counter to everything, and Brady is very good at countering blitzes with short passes. McDaniels knew that better than anybody alive who isn't Belichek or Brady and avoided heavy blitz packages.

Fans love blitzing but it is often dangerous and costly. Many a screen pass has gone for 20 yards because of too much blitzing.

I did not see most of the game but read in the chat room that Todd Light was holding Doom all day, was that true?

Well Doom was shut down. When he hasn't been getting his sacks he hasn't been getting any pressure either. It's all or nothing for him this year.

We need to get more hurries and pressure, we're letting the QBs sit in the pocket forever.

The D played Brady about as well as they could.

Zero points in the second half?

Haven't allowed a score since Cincy got lucky.

I agree we played Brady well, I just thought it was weird we got pressure like twice on Brady once causing a fumble

Only rushed 3 or 4 guys probably 90% of the plays. Combine that with a lot of "max protect" on the Pats part, combined with a lot of attention paid to Mr Dumervil and there you have it.

No, they weren't allowed to blow wind up Tom's skirt to-day. But a cheap shot is accceptable in my mind.

I noticed that too. Very few blitzes, and when they did it was usually the nickel corner or one of the ILBs.

They had a clear plan going in. I mean, how many meetings do you think McDaniels has had with Brady where he said "Oh, I hope they do that," or, "I hope they DON'T do that."

If you would have told me before the game that Brady would have that kind of time to throw I would have never have guessed the Broncos would have won. But it seems that McDaniels (and Nolan) knew what Brady likes and what he doesn't like, and they did a good job of making him uncomfortable despite the lack of pressure.

Honestly, I think it has mostly to do with game planning.

Even during the game Simms talked about how Brady regularly beat blitzes, so by keeping him in the pocket and making him throw... we won the game.

How awful.

Heck we had a hard enpough time on pass coverage rushing 3 we would have gotten burned big time if we would have blitzed the pats OL was doing a great job and the refs were not calling any holds on them it was like a no win situation tring to get to brady today.
