Default Does Denver Break Out the Wildcat This Weekend?

Ok given that both these teams, due to rampant inbreeding, appear to know each other so well does McGenius throw a complete curve this weekend and install some Wildcat plays? I would think there would be a temptation to do this with a combo of Hillis, Jordan, and Moreno in the backfield. I could even see putting Royal back there to really play with their heads. Too bad Buckhalter is hurt, he would have been a good addition in this. EIther way I think Josh will do something out of the ordinary.

I think the pure comedic value of lining Kyle Orton out wide only to see him go completely uncovered by anyone on the Pats defense would be worth the price of admission all by itself. The guy must run a 10 second forty.

As my old coach would say "he couldn't run out of sight in a week"

I don't see a wildcat. But I do see Denver attempting to run the ball down their throats. Why not? Denver is #4 in rush offense and #8 in yards per carry. The Pats are 21st in yards per carry surrendered. Heck. Oakland and Cincy both have better rush defense (per carry). Looks like kind of a no-brainer to me.

I think Denver has to throw more on first down at least early to back NE off. You know BB will stack the box and force Orton to throw in predictable passing situations. Denver needs to offset that early in the game and run on them late in my opinion.

Maybe if Buckhalter's leg didn't fall off.

How long is he out? I haven't seen anything but I just started looking.

Props to ghwk for the idea. It's clear that McDaniels DID have to confuse New England with the "wild horses" formation...

Wow, what a great call

Second best prediction of the year (beyond my 6-2 prediction at the halfway point).

If they do, it's the wildhorse, not the wildcat. Please.

In my defense, it was the Wildhorse, not the Wildcat. Motioning Orton back under center was genius and resulted in the TE open for 10-12 yards almost every time.

Hey, since we're patting ourselves on the back, here was my prediction on the NE game:

"Whichever team scores more than 17 points will win. You know McDaniels has a game plan and knows some things to exploit, but can Orton execute?

Both teams are playing solid D, and both offenses have some weapons. I like our DBs and pass rush keeping Brady from going crazy."
