Default A simple question.....

When do the 2009 Denver Broncos lose their first game?

I'd imagine that NE, @ SD, or Balty will be the most popular choices.

I'm going to go ahead and say that they squeak by Balty and remain undefeated until 12/13 @ Indy.

Discuss.

Which means you are sure they will beat NE and SD?

It's a tough call
Our defense will keep us in the game, or in any game for that matter.
I'm truly sold on our defense. Yes, we at some points are going to be hit hard, it's something that just happens in the NFL...
The question is, which team?

New England is a tough game to call. I think the team that would have the best chance to beat us will be the team with the best offensive line to protect their QB...
That said, New England will keep us on our toes. They play 60 minutes just like we do...so, New England will be the team with the best chance
Their defense is 7 in the NFL in passing, allowing 192 yds/gm and 9th in points allowed 17.8

Their offense is 5th in passing yards with 273.8 8th overall in yards with 376 yds/gm, but their running game leave a lot to be desired, with 102 yds/gm 17th in the NFL
Brady has only been sacked 4 times, and he's on his way to play his best game yet

Despite all of that, I think it could turn out to be a dog fight
We better have our running game going hard, cause Orton, ugh...

I'm not predicting any losses. It's just more fun to expect to win them all. I'm changing my whole life to mirror Josh Mcdaniels way of thinking. You can succeed and win every aspect of your life, just go out and do your job, get it done.

Screw settling!!!!!!

We will be dismantled this weekend. We shouldn't step out on the field. It'll be a disaster of epic proportions.

I'm not sure of anything. I'm simply making a semi educated guess and asking others to do the same.

EVERY game in the NFL is tough.....But I've seen just enough grit out of this TEAM as a whole to put this out there.

We could lose this weekend and if that happens, it won't bother me a bit if people want to bump this and call me an idiot.

Like I said...As of now, Balty looks like the obvious choice toIMO.....But as of this moment, it won't completely shock the piss out of me if Denver wins out through Indy. Especially barring major injury (Insert Boob mojo here)

NE: It's already been touched on that while both coaches know each others schemes, one has the advantage in that he also knows the personell. And it's at home.

@ SD: Roadies are always tough and SD will be coming off of a bye. However....Their defense is looking like trash.

@ Balty: Probably the one but I still think Denver will keep it close enough to have a chance.....Both teams coming off of a bye and I think Denver will be up coached out of the old...Early start on the East Coast conundrum.

Pitt: As of now.....has anybody here seen anything that makes them think that this game is not winnable at home?

@ Wash: JC has been a surprise so far in the box scores but I think Denver's defense is legit enough to win this.

SD: Could be tough if Denver beats them on the road. Revenge angle is big in same season division games.

NYG: As of now, the Giants look like the better team for sure, even though they are boring. This game is HIGHLY steal-able given the short week / Holiday angle.

@KC: ALWAYS tough to win at NarrowHead in December but I think we wiill all agree that Missouri football ain't looking so hot at the moment?

@Indy: I'll be the first to admit that I thought this year was the beginning of the end for Potato Head and company....However, they are still the class of the NFL at the moment and thus are the only game that I cannot make a case for Denver winning at the moment.

Back to the original premise of this thread.....What is your answer?

You can abstain if you want...No biggie.

Law of averages states the Broncos will lose some. I just hope its not at home. Good teams win on home turf. I do think @ SD is probably where we lose in the next 4 weeks.

I should also add to my above post ^^^^ :

I used to be a hardcore NFL bettor so I tend to look at things from a handicapping angle more than anything.......

I probably will be wrong on the outright "first loss" prediction....But it would not surprise me in THE LEAST if Indy is the first ATS loss. Not that that does us fans any good. d:-)

Denver will not be favored until WASH.

I have a feeling we will lose this weekend. Only because we are facing Bellichik (sp?). But will win @ SD to go 5-1 in to the bye.

And in a way, it won't be a disaster if we lose to NE.

First of all team some pressure will be off the team. It will still be a good team, but with the expectation of maintaining an unbeaten streak, the team can concentrate on winning individual games.

If we lose, the spotlight will be off us and we can sneak up on a few team down the road. Its hard to sneak up to anyone if you are unbeaten.

Also, I have a feeling that we might face NE again the playoffs. While I know we beat them in the regular season and playoffs in 2005, I think Bellichik does well in the playoffs against teams he lost to in the regular season. I would rather not face a raging angry Bellichik and Brady in the playoffs.

That said... Go Broncos and I will gladly be wrong about this weekend....

Dude this team could not care less about a "streak" they are here to play football... every week.

And we are not going to "sneak up " on anyone, not now.

The key for us this season will be winning at home, and beating conference rivals...
So far, we've done both...
We've won two conference teams and one division team. We're also unbeaten at home

Exactly. We are a fluke and are two plays away from 2-2. Worst 4-0 team EVER! We have no chance!

Excellent post AB.

I think most of us would agree that gun to our heads if Denver could only go 1-1 in the next 2 weeks....A NE loss and SD win is preferable. And not just because SD is a division game.

Really, both games appear to be coin flips but I can make a case for winning both in my head.....

Can't say the same for Indy at the moment: Thus my prediction.

I have a feeling it will be this week and everyone is going to start feaking out, especially if we get blown out.

If it is this week, it won't change my stance that SD, Balty, Pit and the NYFG are winnable games.

A blowout would send this place into a tail spin though.

BF7 may crash the server by himself if that were to happen.
