Default It's begun, Denver to lose the next 4

I have not been one of the people arguing all is great and we are bound for the SB, but the hate of some members of the media is really astonishing at times.

"1. Congrats to the Broncos for the 4-0 start. And condolences in advance for your 4-4 record at the midway point (Their next games are New England, at San Diego, at Baltimore and Pittsburgh). A home win over the Cowboys is supposed to be the crowning win that convinces us all they're for real?"

Now I'm not arguing that Denver will win 1 or more games in the next 4, but the team has certainly done enough to warrant a little more respect than that kind of idiocy.

What's funny to me is that Chris Berman was just on ESPN saying something to the effect of "And what will become of the Denver Broncos now that they start into a difficult part of the schedule next week with New England?"

I thought the freaking Cowboys were supposed to be the start of the "difficult part" of the schedule. But apparently since the Broncos beat the Cowboys, they are now being lumped into the "weak teams" at the front of the schedule and the "difficult part" has now been redefined to being next week. Funny how that happens when the Broncos beat a team universally thought to be decent if not good (same thing with the Bengals, who are also certainly decent if not good).

Everyone in the media hiitched their wagons to the idea that the 1st 3 weeks were the "cupcake" portion, I never heard or read anyone that included Dallas into that equation. Noone can add that after the fact and still sound credible, unless they are a no name blog writer who never has strived for credability to begin with. I didn't read the article, but judging by the url, this guy writes his "column" from his mothers basement ( see bob, there are more like you out there).

I love it, keep disrespecting the broncos. If you don't think the players read the press clippings watch what Dawkins has to say at the beginning of this video:

Some heads at espn may sponaneously explode early next week if Denver beats NE. They'll be presented with the choice of putting Denver into the high class of NFL teams or dropping NE into the cupcake portion of our schedule. Hopefully no one gets hurt.

I kind of already figured that unless Romo threw for 350 and 3 td's in defeat today, that the media would just put this one on him ( but even if that happened, they'd put wade in the driver seat for ownership of the loss somehow). Denver doesn't beat teams, those teams just lose to Denver.

In fairness to the media - not even the most optimistic Broncos fan in the Universe had us undefeated going into October 11. This is flat incredible - practically unbelievable. A win against New England would send this team into the stratosphere.

Not true.

I predicted our first loss to be against teh Chargers.

I had us at 5-1 going into the bye and 6-2 at the midway point.

I'm not even all that optimistic....let alone "the most optimistic fan in the universe" but once again TJ finds himself talking out of his ass......

I'm on record as....(minimum)

2-0 vs. Ohio

4-2 vs. AFCW (split vs. SD, sweep Raiders or KC but not both)

2-2 vs. NFCE (with Dallas & Wash being the most likely...possible steal on T-day)

2-2 vs. Indy/Balt/NE/Pitt

They have already built in an excuse for NE when they lose. Brady is rusty, doesnt have timing with his receivers, Belechik is afraid of exposing Brady, ect. The attitude of "why not us" is quickly developing in the Broncos lockerroom.

We really do have a ****ing brutal schedule. It's almost comically brutal. Our only "easy" games are divisional, and those are never easy. I guess the Redskins game is a game we should win.

It IS going to be very tough going forward, and it's reasonable for people to think so.

But, this is where you show what you really have, as a franchise. I'm not looking for us to go deep into the playoffs... though it would be sweet. I'm looking for us to continue to gel and improve, and play close, physical games and build this foundation so we can continue it into next season.

The only bad thing about a 4-0 start for a team like us is that it will likely lead to more "see, I told you so" talk if we lose a few. (Which we will, obviously.) Hopefully the staff can keep the guys focused and buying into the plan, even if things get rough.

We've brought in leader-types for just that reason. Let's hope it pays off.

SD wins the division and gets to play the win less Titans and the pathetic Dolphins.

While Denver has to play Superbowl favorites Colts and Patriots.

Something is just not right with that schedule.

We only need to squeeze 6 wins out of the remaining 12 games now. We get 2 vs KC, 1 vs. Oak, and 1 vs Wash. It would really be helpful to make it through division play with only one loss.

Please understand that this person you are quoting only ever posts in order to wind people up and attract attention to himself. Don't rise to it. He never ever turns up to eat his crow not matter how many times he's wrong (and there have been many) he merely ignores the fact that he said what he said and moves on to his next laughable prediction.

Of course, keep flinging stuff at the wall and eventually some sticks...he'll call it right one day, but only in the same way that if you put a bunch of monkeys in front of a typewriter for long enough they'll eventually come up with the complete works of shakespeare.....

i have been calling 11-5 or 10-6 all offseason and have been saying our schedule is nowhere near as brutal as it is made out to be, and that every one of our games in the 1st half of the season were winnable.

The NFL is taking great notice to Mike Nolan's suffocating Defense! Our fortunes/wins and playoffs aspirations all hinges on the Defenses.

Hats off to you. I for one felt no way would we be 4-0 at this stage nor would I have predicted the horrendous D from 08 would be playing lights out thus far by holding teams to under 13 points a game.

I'll be convinced with the Defense if we can hold NE to 17 points or less.

I have to think that McDaniels and Nolan will be able to put something together that can give Brady fits. We have to pressure Brady, the Jets were sucessful in that regard and I think we can do some similar things. BB is going to have his defense ready and Mcdaniels is going to have to be creative with the game plan. This should be an interesting chess match.
