Not sure if this is a good thing, but King is pretty high on the Broncos. He put them in his top fifteen and now picks us to beat Dallas.

he doesn't hate the broncos, he just loves the pats so much that he is willing to accommodate a little room for a McBelichick led team

Matt Forte's yards-per-rush in his three starts so far: 2.2, 2.2, 3.1. Just plain weird.

What happened to the theory that our rushing numbers last year were because of Cutler and that he'd make Forte's numbers go up?

I've placed a healthy wedge on both the Giants (-9.5) and the Bengals (-5.5) both covering the spread this week.

As an outside bet I'm really very tempted to back the Raiders to win in Houston... Texans are woeful against the run, if the Raider D has one of its good days then there might, just might, be a chance of an upset there.

Am I completely crazy to think this?

New York Giants (3-0) at Kansas City Chiefs (0-3)

Now, we don't normally write about gambling in this column, which I fully support. But I did sneak a peek at the odds for this week's ballgames, and I did notice the Giants were nine-point favorites here. I think someone in Las Vegas made a mistake. Is that a nine-point spread for the first quarter? If so, it's a credible line.

Prediction: New York Giants 33, Kansas City Chiefs 10

three factors-

1.their 3 opponents all have decent to excellent defenses, including two of the best in the league, Green Bay and Pittsburgh.

2.Lack of quality receivers as perceived by the rest of the league, they are going to let Cutler prove to them that he can make plays and gel with the ramshackle corps he has to work with, and this is starting to happen. As this happens, teams will be forced to leave more players back on D, which will allow Forte more room, which eventually will benefit the play action and Cutler.

3.New O-lineman, always takes a bit for them to get on the same page.

If Forte and Cutler stay healthy, you will begin to see improvement in his #s.

He'd better, I missed my live draft and autopick went with Forte for me.

That said, Bears O-Line looks very poor. He'll struggle to do anything close to dominating behind that group.

That has been one of the most interesting stats so far this year (to me)... Forte has simply not looked very good. Meanwhile, we are running even better than last year. There were a lot of folks who thought it would be the exact opposite. Denver would struggle to run because D's don't respect Orton, and Forte would have a "field day" with all of the eyes on Cutler.

It will be interesting to see how that plays out the rest of the year.

I would put all of those defenses as decent (maybe not Pittsburgh, but they were missing their "heart and soul")... I really don't think anyone would consider Green Bay to be one of the "best in the league"... They are transitioning to a 3-4, and everyone expected that to take some time. Cincinnati put up big numbers on them. Seattle was dealing with some serious injuries to their linebackers, which is supposed to be the heart of their defense.

Hmmm - how is this different from last year? Plus - Orton was the qb. Cutler's arm strength alone should be keeping the defense more honest.

I think you are probably right, and Forte will come around... However, it has been a pretty inauspicious start for him. It's not like his numbers have only gone down a little. They are downright bad right now. It is very early in the season, though. It will be very interesting to watch this year.

I did the same thing. The raiders were an "up and coming" team until we dominated them last week. They have a great chance to cover against the Texans if they can limit Russell's mistakes.
