You play who you are scheduled to play, but these are 3 of the very worst teams in the league.

We will know what this team really is capable of by week 9.

Those are eye-popper stats ... even if our opponents have been weak, that is very impressive.

The Bengals are one of the best teams in the league. And even the very worst teams in the league can score more than 3 or 6 points. This is not a fluke, the Broncos really do have one of the best defensive units in the league. And there is a reason for it: Mike Nolan was a fantastic defensive coordinator and is once again.

Dude. Mike Nolan is a good coordinator, and it's fun to watch the team be aggressive again...

Let's not get crazy here.

Well, one of those opponents just knocked off the defending champs, for what it's worth.

Well if you're going to grade a team based on who they beat (like you're doing with Denver) then, yes, they are.

Kudos for being 3-0 and your defense is much better but c-mon. Russell was the worst rated passer in the league coming in today with a 37% completion rate and the Browns are horrible. What did they throw? 4 INT's today? and scored 3 points?
The Bengals are a decent team and you shoulda lost but got the fluke play.

Real test coming up.

Bengals beat the STEELERS?! Last week it was the Packers, on the road.

They must be pretty good.

and because of this, you'll see the noise come back. Tough to get excited when you know the defense can't stop a good high school team.

Nope. Just relying on longer term trends and the players and coaches involved.

The Bengals will not be making any noise this season, nor for the forseeable future, so long as Marvin Lewis is the HC.

Just like the Chargers are wasting season after season with Norv Turner, and the Cowboys with Wade Phillips. Neither of those teams will ever win anything so long as the coaches remain, and their current records this early into a new season will neither accentuate nor denounce my feelings either way

Nice couple of wins for the Bengals, no doubt. But if they end up 7-9, will they still be one of the best teams in the league?

Fluke play?

I could have sworn our guy caught that tipped ball, beat the defender down the field, and had the presence of mind to run time off the clock before crossing the goal line.

I must have been watching a different game.

I agree completely.

The crowd and fans in general get fired up for good defensive play more so than anything else, and the team definitely feeds off of that

Well, in that case, no. But RIGHT now, they are. I mean they just beat SB champs and could easily be 3-0.

The Bengals look like they may actually be a pretty decent team. But, they played very poorly against us. Their receivers had like 6 drops that game. We caught them at probably the best time to play them. They were completely out of sync offensively until their final drive of the game.
