Based on what has been stated by most, who can’t seem to say “ok, there are some evil folks in ACORN, they seem too corrupt to get fed funding.” I guess the fringe left here think it weakens your stance by distancing yourself from those groups like ACORN? Thank goodness your own party disagrees with the left of Socialist fringe.
While most conservatives here seem ok with saying Bush betrayed us on the border, on Medicaid part D, that he sold us out and that Larry Craig should loose his job. The Machiavellian political approach only does one thing: It takes We The People to the same place – all of us -- right and left, and grounded relivant folks to economic slavery, and in the end the Republic itself becomes unable to stand because the pillars which support it (us) lack the integrity to keep it. It is a third grade argument to justify one’s behavior based on wicked behavior of another. The R’s and D’s if divided ensure that “they” shall not fall. Who are they? Every corrupt politician, that is in bed with huge international business, of both parties who’s intent it is to distract, deflect and turn our energy on each other while they steal our Liberties. After they have stole it, you guys will still swat at the leaves of the problem, rather than address the root -- the roots which nourish the same damn tree... |

Several videos show two folks that went into several ACORN offices -- they posed as a prositute and her boyfreind, who said they wanted to buy a home, with ACORN's assistance, they also stated very clearly while talking with reps from ACORN that they planned on bring in several young teens from South America who would also work as prositutes out of this home under them. Several offices of ACORN were very willing to help and provided "tax" advice who they could get awy with breaking the law, including tax evasion. You havent seen the video clips? You are not alone as The Ministry of Truth is not broadcasting it...

No i saw those clips I just can't jump buildings in leaps and bounds like you!!!!
All kidding aside its a stupid thing to defend acorn, but at same time it doesn't mean dems support child prostitution. I guess it's because I actually took a debate class before. You are supposed to only use logical arguments that you back up with facts. I'm not sure what you just did, but it ain't modus ponus that is for sure. |

First of all I don't condone child abuse of any nature. It is the most heinous of crimes and those who take advantage of our children shot just be SHOT or slowly beaten to death ON THE SPOT. No mental evaluation, no mental hospital. Period. As far as tha actions of the dumbasses at Acorn are concerned. Charge them, and convict them to the full extent of the law. |

If I was a mod, I'd put this thread in the Butt where it belongs. Bob has become Glenn Beck's Mini-Me.

The ACORN issue is not a purely political issue--there are many Republicans who support ACORN as well. The ACORN issue is an issue of systemic corruption, ideological zeal, a willingness to operate without ethics, not caring who knows about it, and finally a total inability to be accountable. Organizations who are not genuinely accountable for their actions should not be given taxpayer money to continue those actions. Republican, Democrat, or Communist, this statement should be absolute. |

An Indecent Proposal would have been ignored and ineffectual if discusting government abuses where illustrated only with Spock-like, emotionally detached aruments. I do state that the Dems party was willing to condemn -- but I am surprised when the right and left here make excuses for their own no matter what, and that type of thinking does hurt the Republic. The fringe (the 7%) here must feel like they have to defend what they would condemn, if the party lable was changed, does that make more sense? Last edited by Bob; 09-23-2009 at 11:33 AM.. |

An Indecent Proposal would have been ignored and ineffectual if discusting government behavors where conneceted only to "logical" emotionally detached aruments. I can grok that there is some kind of lame attempt here to somehow link your post to Swift's famous essay, but still, what does this sentence mean? The answer is, it means absolutely nothing (and that is only if we presume what some of these "words" might be intended to represent). I actually watched your hero, Beck, yesterday. The whole show. I can see now how you basically attempt to mimic him like some kind of pathetic, trained seal. You do realize that what he is engaged in is just simple fear tactics and demagoguery, right? Here's his basic schtick: Figuratively speaking, now - He takes a huge map of the U.S. and lays it out. Then, he plucks out a few towns and cities (this one called ACORN, and this one called the TIDES Foundation, and this one called Obama, etc.) and then he writes their names on his blackboard. Then, he looks at the big map and finds the roads that connect them. It's a rightard version of the Kevin Bacon game. Then, once he has scratched out the connections on his blackboard, he turns to his seals, like you, and says "See? It's all a giant conspiracy." And then you bark and clap your flippers and if you're good you get a herring. Get it? I also found it interesting that even the commercials on that show are fear based: Buy gold, hire a private investigator, personal injury lawyer, and some of the health industry ads telling you how the socialists are destroying America. Good stuff. Bark, bark. ![]() Last edited by Rohirrim; 09-23-2009 at 11:57 AM.. |

But your difficulty in understanding what I am saying most likely has more to do with your concrete thinking. The irony (in my opinion) is that you will suddenly “see” this stuff, when Romney or (fill in the blank here _ _ _ _ _) gets elected and inherits additional executive powers. Will it be too late then? Will it be too late to influence a bloated government that it has to operate under Constitutional limits, respect our traditions, and live within its means? I hope not, and if not I will likely find myself on your side. Until rant away, and strike at the leaves of the problem. |

I agree bob that any Democrat or Republican still thinking ACORN should be having anything to do with govt money or voter registration is crazy.
Acorn is a crap organization that obviously employees a lot of stupid people with low character, ethics, and common decency. They don't deserve any money from the govt and any person that uses some other corruption to say this corruption should be tolerated is a total idiot. I mean you don't get caught on tape helping people plan crimes and launder money and still get a govt check to do good in the neighborhood!!! It's a total joke and the people on those tape seem about as smart to me as a rock. I mean who in there right mind would take any advice from the dumb ACORN people in those videos? If you need those tools for advice you might as well slit your wrists and run a warm bath. |

We will probably learn it wasn't even an ACORN office or that the corrupt employees were also hired actresses but for sure ACORN does not advocate this. Even Beck knows that the majority of his followers will buy this and judge the whole organization on those two idiots. |

If you go to 4 offices, and 3 of the offices throw you out on your butt, whereas 2 people at one office go along with your scheme, it suggests the organization is not corrupt but rather some of its workers are. Every organization has its share of employees who, when given the opportunity, will reveal themselves to be corrupt or stupid. By Fox only reporting on the one case and ignoring the three other cases, it is deliberately working to create a false image that somehow the Acorn organization rather than two individual employees was responsible and condones this type of behavior. And, it is possible, that these women at Acorn thought these two people were crazy and just went along with it but had no intention of aiding them with anything--as indeed, Acorn affirms that they did not file or do anything on behalf of these people. Maybe, as disappointing as it seems, they just wanted to see if they could get $120 from these crazy people to join Acorn but never would have helped them with this obviously harebrained idea. They did not find an ACORN office willing to help them commit crimes, tax fraud, and slavery--they found two people working at an ACORN office willing to help them commit crime, tax fraud, and slavery. |

The fact some offices should better character doesn't forgive the overall lack of oversight this organization has. They obviously don't know what is going on from one office to the next. IMO they don't deserve govt money for that reason. Now if private citizens want to fund them I have zero problem with that. It's a free country and you can give your money to who you think deserves it, or keep it for yourself. I could never see myself donating to ACORN when places like CITY OF HOPE need money to cure Leukemia. Rasta do you give to charity. And don't lie because you know in the rasta religion honesty is irie. Do you want to hear about stuff like this after giving money away to someone to do good? Whatever you want to think in any job I have ever had the company goes over what they expect as far as integrity, work ethic, honesty, and most of all what is legal. I worked 15 yrs in a bank. I worked 3 yrs LA Public Defender. I know about being on the record and putting your name next to something that says I give my word this is accurate, legal, and complies with the ethics of my profession. If you can't understand those things then I can't help you. You will just have to grow a little older and learn a little more about what is right and what is wrong. And please no speech about the war or something you think repubs did that was worst. Like its been said many times, that's know what to form your character, or determine what you feel is just. |

Acorn is a shoddily run organization who now is probably like a dying cow in the desert. The vulture reporters will now be digging into everything to do with Acorn. Money will stop coming in and they will probably end up out of business.
Go ahead though Ratsa , be a good democrat and send them some of your errrr, I mean your dads hard earned money. |
