How about everyone just stop and think for once before hitting that little "submit post" button?
Why try rubbing someone's face in previous comments when we're 2-0? Its not like we're 12-0. Have some patience, enjoy the season, and those "told you so" internet victories won't seem so important. And for the opposite side of the spectrum, why try belittling and downplaying a surprisingly solid start from a team we all are supposed to be pulling for? That kind of overt negativity is what drives the previously mentioned spiteful "told you so" posting. The season is early. There are more important things than who was right or wrong in a message board debate from a few weeks or months ago. There are questions on offense, of course. The defense looks surprisingly good, but just how good is it really? Special teams have been hit (KR/PR coverage) and miss (Prater, twice). There are highs and lows within games, just like there will be highs and lows within the season. We will lose a game at some point, probably ugly. Enjoy the season, we're 2-0. We've done it against some questionable competition, one of which looks like a potentially solid team (Cincy), the other looks horrible but we routed them (the Cleeve). We got a divisional rivalry next week on the road, it'll be a tough game and another big test for this significantly overhauled team. I'm looking forward to it. So before the next person wants to play thread Jesus and bring up some months old relic for one or two face rubbing quotes, or starts mocking someone's fandom, football IQ, etc. because they disagreed or still disagree with you ask yourself "do I really want to be that douche?" There will be plenty of time for all that when the season is in the books, now its time for Bronco Nation to cheer for a good looking Broncos squad to keep the run alive one more week. |

Now, cue the first douchecicle to come into this thread and say, "Well I had to listen to (insert name here) disagree with me all offseason and I told him he was wrong and I told him he was a bad fan and I told him I was a better fan than him and the Broncos are 2-0 so I was right and he was wrong and he should go be a Bears fan." |

Who's belittling Denver? It's been awhile since i've been so excited for a defense. Here's to hoping we can keep this thing going!

Ehhhh I know it's not the point of the post, but both of Prater's kicks are in today but for the swirling wind. The goalposts were moving it was blowing so hard on the field, and the direction the wind was blowing on me in my seat was never the same direction as the streamers on the goalposts.

It's definitely reasonable to be excited about our revamped defense, solid running game, and a QB that isn't going to bury us on the negative side of the turnover spectrum. Obviously Cleveland is no San Diego, Pittsburgh, or New England but Cincinnati did hang 34 on Green Bay today.
However, we can't get ahead of ourselves, especially since Oakland can and has bitten us in the ass when we weren't ready. Nevertheless, this was a great win on a great day for one of the greatest Broncos ever. ![]() Last edited by Baba Booey; 09-20-2009 at 09:09 PM.. |

If you can't be happy when your team is 2-0, you're just a downright bad fan.
Enjoy it fellas! |

I'm waiting until the end of game 4 before I make too many assumptions. Our D has played a fairly potent offense (that won this week), holding them to 0 points after 3 quarters.. and also held an anemic offense to 6. So... it's hard to tell really how good they are. From near dead-last to the top? That's just.. unlikely in the extreme. But man, I hope we stay there.
Our offense improved, but still looks very weak. We did well against an incredibly bad defense at home.. and did poorly against an average defense away. So, I'm not terribly optimistic yet. Guess we'll see. ![]() |

Best post I've read here in awhile. You've said it better than I ever could have.
I know this team will have it's limitations, but damnit, I'm going to enjoy the ride. Feels good man. |

This whole peace thing with the thick headed dimwits who didn't want to dig past the surface to see what mcdaniels was doing is going to be hard on those of us who did see the vision of what he is doing. I mean, these guys did everything they could to convince others that mcdaniels was destroying the team and that bowlen was a gutless drunk. I've heard bad things said about all parts of the broncos before they even hit the field.
So, it is going to be hard to forgive these guys. Don't get me wrong, it is their right, but they were being major douche bags in the way they were acting. It is a shame that this off-season split bronco fans so much but winning cures everything! I will not forget or forgive the unbelievers easily though...But hey, as mcdaniels continues winning and the team actually beats teams it should and puts up a fight against better teams i'm sure the unbelievers will come back into the fold and after a few years things will seem normal again as we're winning consistently and not ever giving up. I know this is a stupid internet message board but damn, those of us who are very passionate about the broncos will find it hard to forgive the unbelievers. In time though, in time... I'm glad for us fans as well as the players and coaches. These were games the Broncos had to win to have a decent chance at a decent season, and if we do win 6-7-8 wins, I'll consider it a success because of that schedule.
I don't want the Bronco to lose in order to crow 'I told you so'. I always want the Broncos to win, but I still fear the worst in that murderers row middle of the schedule. I still believe McDaniels is in over his head and isn't half the coach Shanny was, and probably still is. Maybe he will be in time, but then, he was hired to 'win now', and he's 2 & 0 so far. Good for him. Good for us fans. So lets re-visit the McPoppyface thread in about a month. |
